There's not really much to expect, only heads up is there is literally next to no room to work on the back manifold. The shop that installed mine hates my car now.

And Lord, it cost about $350 for my shop to do mine.

i just hate that i'm going to have to pay more to put them on than it was to buy them haha... i also realize that it's a pain to put them on because i tried and failed and i don't want a shop telling me it's a lot more than i think it should cost to put them on just because it is a pain to do so...

I got quoted at $275-300. the 3.5L altima is a bitch to install headers on, and is not something most people want to attempt on their own. It is way different than the 4cyl altima. Do a little research on how much it costs people to install headers on their 3.5 altimas and maximas....$400 is a fair price; certainly not the best, and certainly not the worst.

and altima09, if it is so easy to diy why the hell did you pay a shop to install headers on your last car?(rhetorical question, no need for a reply.)

anyways, good luck and enjoy

I've read on here that the install takes anywhere from 4-10 hours. Assuming that 4 is in a shop with a lift, $400 is decent.

My buddy and I did my headers about a month and a half ago. He has a two-post lift and everything. We replaced the entire front subframe at the same time, so it was out of the way and made the header install a hell of a lot easier.

After doing this, we came to the conclusion that it might actually be worth taking out the subframe to do the header install even if you arent replacing it. It gives you that much more room. Taking the subframe out is not so bad either, as long as you have an impact.. if not, I would probably not attempt it. So, if anyone here is planning to tackle it on their own, this is something to consider.
