finalllly getting my headers put on this upcomming monday..i am going to print out the install just incase there are some good tips in there the mechanic doesnt know..is there anything else i should give him a heads up on or look out for? theyre megan racing headers on an 02 3.5 auto
There's not really much to expect, only heads up is there is literally next to no room to work on the back manifold. The shop that installed mine hates my car now.
And Lord, it cost about $350 for my shop to do mine.
the shop im going to told me 400.00..he said that it may be a little cheaper..seems like a pretty cool guy so im hoping he doesnt try to rip me off..has done my moms car and my brothers truck before n gave them breaks..i printed out the guide for him just incase it would help cut off some time..thanks..been wanting these on forever lol
i just hate that i'm going to have to pay more to put them on than it was to buy them haha... i also realize that it's a pain to put them on because i tried and failed and i don't want a shop telling me it's a lot more than i think it should cost to put them on just because it is a pain to do so...

I got quoted at $275-300. the 3.5L altima is a bitch to install headers on, and is not something most people want to attempt on their own. It is way different than the 4cyl altima. Do a little research on how much it costs people to install headers on their 3.5 altimas and maximas....$400 is a fair price; certainly not the best, and certainly not the worst.
and altima09, if it is so easy to diy why the hell did you pay a shop to install headers on your last car?(rhetorical question, no need for a reply.)
My buddy and I did my headers about a month and a half ago. He has a two-post lift and everything. We replaced the entire front subframe at the same time, so it was out of the way and made the header install a hell of a lot easier.
After doing this, we came to the conclusion that it might actually be worth taking out the subframe to do the header install even if you arent replacing it. It gives you that much more room. Taking the subframe out is not so bad either, as long as you have an impact.. if not, I would probably not attempt it. So, if anyone here is planning to tackle it on their own, this is something to consider.
^^is removing the subframe a matter of what, removing 4 bolts? I haven't been under the car in a while and I will be installing a front sway bar and mmi, and this is something I iwll have to do....
