Tranny Cooler Installed w/ Pics

Well fellas I FINALLY got around to installing my cooler this weekend. It was a pretty easy thing to do but I took some things off the car just to have better access like my front bumper and radiator fans. The cooler I used was the B&M part# 70266. I used 1/2"x 5/8" barb fittings and about 8ft of 5/8" rubber hose, I had about a ft left over but better to have extra just incase. Back in June I could tell just driving around town my tranny fluid needed to be changed BAD, car was beginning to downshift rough and shift rough on the spray. I've done about 3 drain and fills since then one including this past weekend, and I must say with the cooler installed the tranny shifts like butter and has never felt better so I'm pretty pleased with the cooler. The tranny fluid isn't was dark as it was and doesn't smell burned like it did so we will see what happens with this new setup. I still plan on buying a small fan to mount to the tranny cooler for the hot track days but for now its good to go. Here are some pics I took while I was installing the cooler.

Here is the B&M Tranny Cooler

Heres a few pictures of the mounting tabs

Here is a picture of the stock cooler

Another picture of the stock cooler underneath the car. I left the top hose in all and just disconnected the bottom hose coming off of the stock cooler, and thats where I ran the new 5/8" hose from the new cooler to the old..

Here are some pictures of it mounted

Here are the diagrams I used

Didn't install any extra fluid, this tranny uses anti-freeze to cool the transmission.

if i took this statment literally, i would think you are suggesting i put coolant into the transmission cooler..

About time you get that installed. Mine is a little smaller than the one you got, but it gets the job done none the less. Good job!

Lol no the coolant will find it's own way through the cooler..

Yes I was already under the car, I had extra K-Matic fluid laying around so I went ahead and did a drain and fill while I was under there.. Very easy to do..

I took my time, wasn't in any rush and had to make a parts run to Advance. All in all with removing my front bumper and radiator fans and stuff it took me about 4 hours to do everything.. I don't drive my car very much but I've done two drain and fills since the end of June and will probably do another one here in the next month or so..

I know man I don't wanna hear it lol.. I've been so busy with work I haven't had time to do jack. But I had some extra time on my hands and figured I would do something constructive haha.. What size is your cooler? Is it setup kind of similar?
