Service engine soon light

Went on yesterday when leaving from work. I have free WAI w/ the K&N and just a muffler, could these be causing it? My best guess would be a loose gas cap or something. My car has 14,000 miles on it and the "DTE" light is flashing on the trip computer but I don't know what that is. Do you guys think I'll have trouble with the dealer if I bring the car in as-is?

I think its something to do with your car thinks it needs a oil change.. Mine did it when i was 600 miles from home. but it went off in a day or two

well if your DTE light is flashing.. YOU NEED GAS.. hence, "Distance Till Empty"... so is it the DTE flashing, or is you SES light on..
