I did this when removing the intake manifold, At first I thought it was the
throttle body gasket that was bad. But it continued after I replaced the gasket.
Then I sprayed carb cleaner to intake to head area, the RPMs went up.
The good thing the throttle body is easy to remove.
Tools need:
--8mm,10mm-19mm socket set (deep and shallow)
In both 3/8 and 1/4. 4MM-14mm deep and shallow
ALSO SOME 1/4 in, 5/16 sockets for new clamps
-1/4 ans 3/8 Universal joints and Universal sockets
-Vise grips
- 6mm Allen socket
- ratchets,
- toque wrench
- PB Blaster
- 1/4, 3/8 extensions
-screwdrivers and picks
-New gasket sets
-Gasket Scaper
This is how it looks before you take it part, it should look the same,
Disconnect the negative battery cable
Remove the hose that goes to thermostat housing
After removing the starter remove the hose( I removed it ) If you do remove the starter then it easy to disconnect, But I don’t bother with that crap any more. So would cut it, and replace that section with new piece of hose.
Remove the TPS wiring with small screwdriver and pick,
Remove the link, looks like swab,
Now loosen 4mm 6mm Allen bolts with Allen socket, in crisscross pattern
This what I use to cut hoses, ha ha I took from my mom LOL.
Now remove the FOUR 6mm bolts
There is vac hose, that needs to be removed
That bracket I bend the ears so it will not be hard to install the new gasket
Clean the gasket mating surfaces, and put the new gasket and toque
the bolts to specs , to 12 ft pound
