i installed an eibach pro-kit and kyb struts and shocks yesterday on my 2006 3.5 SE altima , here are pics and instructions .
i will tell you how i like the set-up in a few days and i will post further down in this thread .
this first part is for the rear
the car was up on jack stands at the body lift points .
this is the rear shock top mounting plate , the bolts are 12mm .
with the suspension jacked up . i removed the bottom shock mounting bolt . 17mm
jacking up the lower control arm makes removing the bolts easier and so when the bolts are out the spring doesn't pop out . i used a 17mm ratchet on one side and a 17mm wrench on the other .
after all the bolts are taken out and the shock is removed i lowered the jack and pushed the lower control arm down to remove the spring .
install the new spring , make sure the bottom of the spring , where the spring starts , locks into the notch in the rubber on the lower control arm mount , then jack up the lower control arm and reinstall the mounting bolt .
remove the top rubber on the original shock
use a vise grip to hold the top of the shock bolt then use a wrench ( i believe 13mm or 9/16 ) to remove the bolt .
reinstall all the shock hardware on to the new shock .
then re install the shock and your done .

the car was up on jack stands at the body lift points .
jack up the front suspension , under the lower control arm .
remove the brake mounting clip , then move the line away from the strut .
remove the abs sensor line on the left .
remove the abs sensor line on the right .
remove the front end link from the strut , 17mm .
remove the bottom strut bolts , 17mm on one side 19mm on the other , use a ratchet on one and a wrench on the other . be sure to leave 1 bolt in and just remove the nut or when you unscrew the nuts at the top of the strut , it will fall .

the car was up on jack stands at the body lift points .
first loosen the center bolt 1-2 turns only !!! ( 17mm ratchet ) this will make later disassembly of the strut easier . then remove the strut tower bolts ( 13mm i believe ). when that is done you can lower the jack and pull the one bolt you left in at the bottom out . remove the strut .
the blue paint line on the black strut mount is suppose to face the firewall , thats the only way the fits in , the top strut mount swivels .
with the strut removed use spring compressors to compress the spring , with the spring compressed loosen the top strut bolt , remove the struts top plate , then remove the spring . with the spring out undo the spring compressors . DON'T EVER REMOVE THE TOP BOLT AND DISASSEMBLE THE STRUT WITHOUT THE SPRING BEING COMPRESSED !!! THE SPRING WILL SHOOT OFF AND YOU'LL GET HURT !!!
place the bottom rubber on the new strut .
compress the spring then place the spring on the new strut , put back all the original strut hardware . then lock the spring in with the center bolt . when the bolt is locked down remove the spring compressors .
to install the strut , place it back in the wheel well and put the 2 lower bolts in the bottom of the strut , then jack the lower control arm up to bring the strut to the top mounting holes ( strut tower ) . put the front end link back in its place . put the 3 strut tower bolts back on then full tighten the center bolt . finish bolting in the lower 2 nuts/bolts on the bottom of the strut . put back the abs sensor line and brake line . your done .
i will get the car aligned in about 5 days , i will also write a review on how i like this set-up

Great write-up man... I'm still riding on OEM shocks/struts with my prokits and its still fine. I'll get the kyb gr-2 once they go bad.
I would change the text to be in red just to make sure nobody misses it
This should be STICKY/FAQ!!
thanks
my OEM struts could be pushed down at least twice as fast as the new kyb gr-2's , i changed the shocks and struts at the same time as the springs because it saves me from doing the job twice and the eibach's are stiffer then stock springs and they can over power the OEM struts/shocks .
i changed the warning to red .
also i will get the car aligned in about 5 days and i will also write a review on how i like this set-up

^I don't think it matters which is done first... I would recommend doing the fronts first, since they take more time. If you run out of time you can always finish up the rears later, they should only take 30 mins max.
hmmm how convenient...i just got shocks/struts and eibach pk a month ago and was gonna tackle this with my buddies but i knew we would run into trouble so i delayed and god gave me this amazing post.
very nice job with these write-ups you've been posting!
what points do you like to use for the body lift points? different people seem to have different opinions on this.
note to mods: when how-to's get stickied, could you possibly (pleeease) host the images locally? it is frustrating to read an old how-to and find that the images are all gone/expired.
