Arrow How to: 4th Gen. Shift gate bulb replacement.

How to: 4th Gen. Shift gate bulb replacement AND shifter knob removal.

1.) GET IN YOUR ALTIMA

2.) USE A KEY, COIN, OR FLAT SCREWDRIVER TO SLIDE THE CHROME COLLAR DOWN ON THE SHIFTER.

3.) PULL THE METAL CLIP FROM THE SHIFTER KNOB. ALSO STORE THE PIN IN A SAFE PLACE, IT IS THERE TO KEEP THE KNOB FROM SLIDING OFF.

4.) AFTER THE COLLAR IS DOWN & THE PIN IS PULLED, OPEN THE STORAGE DIN BEHIND THE SHIFTER

5.) PULL THE SHIFTER KNOB OFF.

6.) USE YOU FINGERS TO PULL UP ON THE SHIFT GATE. IT WILL COME UP.

7.) TURN THE SHIFT GATE OVER.

8.) FIND THE BULB & TURN IT.

9.) PULL OUT THE OLD BULB & REPLACE IT WITH A NEW ONE, OR LED (PREF. ORANGE SO THE COLOR WON'T BE ODD)

10.) DO THESE STEPS IN REVERSE.

** FOR SOME LED BULBS, YOU MAY HAVE TO REMOVE THE 3 SCREWS AND INSERT THE BULB THAT WAY. IT MAY NOT FIT THROUGH THE HOLE.
