That's a different procedure. You should be able to find it with a search.

I tried to set the diagnostic mode, but after a couple of attempts, I gave up. I never got the light to the flashing stage. I'm guessing that my timing was off- is that what was meant by "meticulous with each step"? (actually, I was trying to get the idle air volume to "learn", but the steps are pretty much the same. I didn't get the MIL to flash, but it does idle better/slower)

Meticulous does mean that you have to be VERY precise with the timing. Not exact, but almost.

i just had that yesterday and took to the dealership and they cleared it for me for free...my light came on after i was messing with the head unit...dont know why it came on and neither does the dealership but it did...probably have to take it back to have it cleared again once im done with my custom nav/unit install...

I don't know if this would help but I have the same issue with the airbag light after my stereo install. I had a Titan with the same problem, and there is a reset procedure for those. It might work for the Altima. I'll have to check it out and see if it works.

That is the same procedure I used for my 2005 Titan. I will test it out tonight and see if it works. The procedure was very picky in my Titan.

Worked, Cleared my SES light, you have to be very meticulous, I tried a bunch of times before I finally got a stop watch to time it perfectly.... Get a watch and follow the instructions...

The airbag light goes off if you unplug the plug for the airbag off light in the center vents and turn the car on because the airbag system is looking for all connections to complete the circuit and if the light is not there then it throws up a code. If you do not unplug the center vents then it won't go off. ITS THAT EASY!!!
