Nice writeup. People kept asking me how to wire things to the OEM switch because i made a foglight how-to thread but it was a separate switch and not on the stalk and i had no idea how to wire it up to the stalk so props to you good sir.
somebody give this man an award or something! Awesome write up!

I think that they may have started shipping all of them pre-wired by '09.

Your post was one of the ones I read before doing this install, and it helped me out. I just noticed that no one had done a writeup using the factory replacement switch, and I had the opportunity to take the pics for it...Also, I felt that finding a good ground location under the car needed to be mentioned.
I did the writeup for the guys that own the Gen4 cars on my local forum...(I don't own one. I have 2 Gen3 cars. This was a paying side job for me) I offered it up to one of the mods here for the 07 FAQ forum which is where it will get moved to shortly.
There's 2 wires coming out of the fuse box.
1 out of pin [let's call it] X
1 out of pin [let's call it] Y
OPTION 1:
From what i understand each goes directly to the fog light (1 wire per light)
Ground wire ends at the bolt u have a pic of, but where does it start?
At the first light, then goes into second and into the bolt?
OPTION 2:
one wire out of the fuse box is ground and goes to one light, then another and ends at the bolt u have a pic of.
Second wire is "hot" and goes out of the fuse box into one light and then into second, where it ends.

Which one is right?
The wires from the fuse box are the positive leads for the lights. One to each light.
I ran seperate ground wires from each light to that common point on the driver's side. I had originally hoped to find another threaded hole on the passenger's side of the car, but the washer fluid reservoir is in the way. You have to run the positive lead to the passenger's side anyway, so it was easy to run the negative back in the same loom and use that common ground point.
Just found out that with oem switch you can not turn your fogs on unless lows are on. Is that true???
If so, anyway to have oem switch to turn the fog lights on when headlights are off?

That is true. Fog lights will only operate with the low beams on. They also cancel when the high beams are turned on. This is all controlled by the car.
I am looking to order the OEM fog lights now. Browsing abcnissanparts.com, I see the following lights:
Fog lamp assy Right 07-08 $177.35 $133.01
Fog lamp assy Left 07-08 $189.53 $142.15
Can anyone vouch for for this store? Are these Nissan P/N 25560-JA074? I have a 2.5 SL that is not pre-wired and want to make sure I'm getting all the right parts. Does anyone know a place that packages a kit (like the mentioned '09 one)?
