if anyone is interested i found this thread on IC pipe sizes. its for a mazda, but they talk a lot about why you might want to increase or decrease the pipe diameter going from hot to cold side.

dark and vaser, there are people there that agree with both of you

Intercooler Pipe Size? - MX6.com

alas, it hasnt helped me decide on anything yet...

got my fuel pump but dont feel like taking a pic right now

do i NEED a boost controller? i mean, the wastegate actuator on the gt28rs is adjustable from 10 to 14 psi. cant i just set it to 8-10psi and call it a day? or is there some other reason why i might want or need a boost controller? thanks

if the wastegate range is from 10-14, you can only go higher than 10-14 but not lower.

sorry i typed it wrong. the actuator is 10psi adjustable +/- 2 psi (so 8-12 psi not 10-14). now, if i want to run at 8-10 psi, do i need a boost controller? or should i say, if i only plan on running 8-10 psi, what advantages would having a boost controller offer? (if any)

i found a decent article on boost controllers that pretty much answers my question

How does a electronic boost controller work

basically, using only the wastegate will work fine for limiting the boost to 8-10 psi or whatever i set it at. however, the wastegate may be able to open slightly at a level lower than that, which can negatively impact spool-up time. using the boost controller (or at least, and electronic boost controller is what the article refers to, im not sure if MBCs would work the same way), the wastegate actuator will not even see any boost until the limit is reached and the EBC trips the solenoid valve. guess im gonna get me a profec type s or something...

^np... i should warn you though they were kinda sketchy. the checkout form didnt really work at all so i got on their "live chat" and they gave me an email address to paypal my payment to, along with an order number. the paypal address had several thousand confirmed buyers though so i wasnt worried too much

then it took them a while to ship it out. i got on the chat again and asked them about it, and they called "the warehouse" while i was chatting and found out that it hadnt shipped because the installation kit for the altima had to be special ordered. the whole ordeal took about 3 weeks from the time i ordered until i received it. i was in no hurry at all so for me it was quite painless... but if you want it NOW i suggest looking elseware

Hmm good heads up, yeah I am in no hurry either, I don't see the turbo project being close until summer at earliest. Says only 1993-1995, anyone know if there pumps a little different or something? Which one did you order from them? 255lph (WAL-GSS-315) or the 255lph (WAL-GSS-341)

Well I looked on eBay and they seem to be the same part numbers, the ones on eBay claim 1993-1997 so I think we should be good. Only thing is, most of them if not all are the 255lph (WAL-GSS-341) so I wonder if that's the best bet, considering it is still under $100

meh... it wouldnt hurt, but its not necessary to have the high pressure version. i've read at least 3 people on here who are/were turbo who had a walbro and specifically said it was the non-HP version, meaning the 315

Be very careful ordering Ebay Fuel pumps, as not all are 'real walbros'

just my two cents
