Question 89 240sx sohc w/auto to dohc w/man swap ?

my father has an 89 240 sx with a sohc and auto tranny motor is knocking so he bought another wrecked 240 but it was the dohc in it with a manual tranny he is wanting to put the dohc and man tranny in to other body. we are going to use the dohc wiring harness and comp but i have heard that in order for the cluster to work that you have to change some of the pins in the harness where it goes into the firewall. i could be wrong but thats why im asking you all. as far as doing the auto to manual part we shouldnt have any trouble so any help with the wiring issue will be apperciated

thats a good article but i dont think that we are going to unbolt the trans from the motor just pull both out at once an swap the dohc and manual to the car with the good body. im a tech for GM and my father is a body tech but he did the hot rod thing in his younger days with camaros firebirds and such. so we know what we got to do to physically change the motors and trans, but not sure on wiring mods that might have to be made to make every thing function right

i got you, i didnt read your question careful enough. just thought you were doing auto-man swap.

Wiring:
1. Locate the body harness (under dash harness that attached to the ECU) that attached to your old harness. Cut the old connector off (the one that attached to your SOHC harness) and attach your DOHC body harness connector. Just match the colors!
Yellow/Red --Tach
Yellow/Green--Speedometor
Orange--Ignition start
Black---Ground
Blue/Black---Water temp sensor

hopefully this answers your question.
