Door wont open

I just bought a 1995 altima last Saturday. The previous owner neglected to tell me that it had been stolen. Looks like a screw driver was jammed into both drivers and passengers side door locks, and the ignition looks new; I assume the locks were replaced too. The problem is that sometimes the door just wont open.. event though the door is unlocked. Seems like the plastic piece that pushs the C shaped part of the lock (in the door jam) doesnt pop up enough when the handle is pulled normally to open the door. Anyone else having problems like mine?

You might just need to adjust the position of the lock in your door. I'm not sure how much play is left in there, but that kinda thing would happen at the body shop and usually the fix was to "fine tune" the placement of the lock mechanism and or striker.

good luck
