Exhaust tips are for looks, and with the muffler I bought, I think I really need something on the end of it.
I'm going 2.25" custom all the way, using MagnaFlow components. (yes I'll do a whole update and sounds, etc. when it's done. No we're not arguing piping.)
I want a round, angled tip with rolled edges, stainless steel. The look of the newer gen Altima's, Mazda's, etc. (Anyone know the stock dimensions of these guys?) 2.25" input, and I think ideally 2.5" output. I picked up a 2.25 in, 3.00 out. (Magnaflow part 35131) I think it may be a tad too big when viewed from the back of the car for my taste. Hard to say.
It would be tucked up more than the stock exhaust, but I'm still afraid of it looking strange. I know some people think 4" tips are cool, but I'm not about having a big shiny conversation piece on my car.
Pics to help me see what 3" out really looks like on a 1st, 2nd gen so I can keep what I've got, or some link to one that fits my specifications. (Any brand, but I want the rolled edge.)
