I got completely abandoned by my friend Bryan, who was my original choice for helping me install the kit. So, I called my buddy Jaquan, the whitest black kid I know. He works at a dealership an hour or so west of me and said he would help. He normally has work on Saturdays, but has the whole weekend of the 22nd off. We made plans for me to drive to his place, stay that weekend, and get this thing done.
Sorry this is taking so long. I really thought I'd have the thing in by now. If I were you guys, I'd probably be thinking by now that this kid is full of it and I'm wasting my time. I assure you, though, that I'm doing what I can to get this done, at a minimum cost, on the tight schedule I'm currently running on. I'm going to continue to keep my driving to a minimum, and cross my fingers for this plan to work out.
Unfortunately, I won't have much to say for like another two weeks, after the weekend when I get this installed. If you guys have any questions, I'll gladly keep up with you, but I won't know if this thing works until the 24th (if nothing else goes wrong).
Reassuringly, Jaquan said that while working at another dealership a little over a year ago, a customer gave him a DVD and told him it's all he needs to know to convert any car to hydrogen. He said he was surprised when I emailed him the manual and he saw it was basically the same system and concept. So, maybe this IS some big elaborate secret Big Oil doesn't want us to know about. I mean, why would they?
Sorry again, but be patient and I'll keep you guys posted.
I want it see results from this "experiment." I don't think it is possible to get the high MPG that the HAFC people are claiming. It is was true, they are doing an extremely crappy job at advertising the product. A product that could increase MPG by 50% could be sold to a automobile company like Toyota, Ford for millions of dollars.
sounds like a scam to me as-well. If it works then they are going to sell the living shit out of them. making BILLIONS. If they are doing a bad job selling there product then so be it. IF IT WORKS, WORD WILL GET OUT.
If they sold this product for millons to a car maker, they would be shoting themselfes in the foot. OR its a scam. Sounds like the later to me but we will see on the 25th.
oh the movie is dumb as balls, but that's a hilarious reference. i mean, that pic. that so sums up this thread.
im sure we'll see how the performance and his returning works soon. you'd have an easier time returning a watch to a street vendor..
*edit: I looked at their sites. appear to be multiple sites all saying the same propaganda. If you read that and thought it made sense, you just disgraced your Jr High physical science teachers.
just a few months ago there was a guy "running a car on water" and showed him hitting a piece of metal with a torch and water beads ran off it. it's simple hydrolysis. it's also a simple problem: the energy required to create the hydrogen exceeds the energy you get out. and they mention "magnetically cracking the gas molecules" to that all i have to say is: what the ****? c'mon guys. really.
just google "hafc hoax" or "car runs on water" or "burning water car" stuff like that. Or, if you really really want to prove it to yourself - find the same book I pulled my 5th grade science fair projects from.. pretty sure there was something like this in there using a 9 volt battery.
hah google "hydrolysis experiment 9v" and you DO find what I was talking about. Look at the age of these kids. I hope none of you end up on the "are you smarter than a 5th grader" show. 6th-hydrolysis

Reason: come the hell on
Injecting hydrogen, or propane or methanol or
other fuels will decrease the amount of the
primary fuel used per unit work.
To break water down into hydrogen/oxygen
using electricity you need to generate electricity,
and the amount of energy available by burning
the hydrogen produced will be less than the
energy used to produce the electricity.
Adding hydrogen to the air intake of an internal
combustion engine will promote hydrogen embrittlement
of the parts of the engine exposed to the burning
hydrogen.
If/when these issues are addressed, commercial and
performance vehicles will be retro-fitted, and new
vehicles will eventually follow suit.
interested to see the results. but i wouldnt be expecting much
somehow i think the results you see are going to be about the same as their returns dept... if ya catch my drift

Hey guys, thanks for all the negativity haha. I can't say I blame you though.
Good news is that working deep into the night Jaquan and I just got the whole thing installed and wired.
We extended my Injen intake with an intercooler elbow to curve it over the fuel cell, had to cut and extend the wires going to my MAF, and use some power tools to get my ECU open, but it's done. This was really late last night though and I was still 80 miles from home. Also, I had two finals to worry about today so I headed home, arriving at about 2am and went straight to bed.
There's really no bad news I just haven't tested it yet. The caustic requires some supplies to mix that I didn't have on hand so I'll have to do that tonight. Ever see Fight Club? Once mixed with water the caustic powder will basically yeild the same extremely basic solution that seared Edward Norton's flesh, so I want to be sure I do this part right.
My oil does need to be changed but I'm testing the mileage tonight, regardless. That should remove any positive effect of a clean running engine and narrow down the cause of any gains. I'm going to do it late to avoid traffic, and will let you guys know how it works.
The manual says the Optimizer needs to be tuned by a certified tuner to work optimally, but I'll see how well it does without tuning.
I'll either post my results really late tonight or sometime tomorrow..
Wish me luck and cross your fingers. If my results come up negative, there's still the possibility that it needs to be tuned, but I have to assume that this should at least give me some increase.
My first test showed about 32 MPG highway which was surprising, but I did it as scientifically as I could and that's what I came up with.
If they fulfill their guarantee I will be getting at least 48 MPG highway.
We'll see. With my luck, and how much people like to f*ck me over though, I'll probably actually lose a few MPG. I'm trying to be optimistic, but I'm not so naive that I'd be shocked by no gain.
Read the thread from the beginning. My whole process is covered.
Just a side note: I've been reading through this thread and realize a lot of talk about Big Oil. It's disturbing how much power they and major car companies have over how we travel and what we're "allowed" to have in this "free" country. Anyone who knows and understands the term "planned obsolescence" probably has some idea of the degree to which this is true.
If you're curious about how much control Big Oil and major car manufacturers have over this country do some research on the Chevy EV1, for example. This is the the link to wiki's info about the controversy surrounding the subject:
