Question 99 Nissan Altima-Upgrade Tire Size HELP!

Hey everyone!

I have a 99 Nissan Altima, my stock tire is 195/65/R15. I want to upgrade to a better tire size for smoother ride. I was considering putting 215/60-15... or 205/60-15. Which upgrade tire size should i go with? I like driving fast in dry, wet and when it's hot outside. I'm looking for smooth, less road noise tire.

Thanks everyone!

instead of looking at tire size, you should looks at the tire itself. changing the size will not change noise or make it smoother.

Going wider will probably cause more noise due to a larger contact patch.

205/60/15 came stock on 00-01's...98 and 99s got 195/65's, and 205/60's on the SE and GLE i believe.

also, if youre looking for tires that grip you wont find great grip tires in the all-season category (which are normally the quietest and smoothest tires). youre going to HAVE to go with a more performance oriented tire, and that means more noise, especially with a wider tread.

everything is a compromise...but 205/60 is what you should look for when you go wider...215/60 is gonna be way too fat (i know i had some at one point). you could always just go to TireRack and search around...set your criteria and check reviews on what the tire search finds. thats what i normally do, and i havent been disappointed yet.

Here are a couple in your price range. I am not sure about their performance, but they seem to have good ratings.

Longer wearing tire:

Softer tire:
