IDK how you guys do, but I can barely break loose. Granted my tires are real grippy for some reason, I can just BARELY chrip them going in a straight line brake torquing it and going WOT. In the rain I really cant either. Car is stock but damn.

You should have no problem spinning in the rain, I have very grippy tires also but rain is no object for me, don't just tap the gas and expect to spin (though it happens for me this way at times where a simple smooth take off gets the tires slipping) give it about 35-45% throttle and watch them spin.

I've got a 5-speed, but the last thing I want to do is spin the tires. It just makes the axle jump. Bad for CV joints.

It should only do that of you really stay on it...with a little bit of throttle modulation they should stay firmly planted.

Back on topic, the reason bought this car is because when you compare it to a mildly tuned (bolt-ons, no turbo) 4 cylinder form that era it will beat it stock. A guy in town has dumped about $8000 into his EF civic and it's always a close race.

mi tires have less than 1000 miles on them and i have same problem even at normal takeoffs in rain.
