It's like when you stroke your dork before you put it in her pink harp: you're just getting all the moving parts moving and out of stasis lock before you go all out and put the lube on.

^what exactly do you mean pull the wire from the ignition coil? Just unplug the ignition coil? Or are you talking about just pulling off the wire that runs from the coil to the distributor?
Thank for the serious response drunk....any other things I should be sure to do before I start?
Also one more question, my battery has been sitting for the past 5 or so months do you think it will be okay or should I try to find someone with a trickle charger? I have NOT kept it on the floor AT ALL. It has always been up on my work bench or on a wooden chair. I'm worried if it is extremely discharged I've heard it's bad to try to jump start it?
Some quick responses to these questions are appreciated guys, I need this stuff answered before I'm confident enough to turn the key....the absolute last thing I want is to turn the key and the car won't start.
i wanna hear tht the car has been started.. and this thing is a champ =]

Lol, I still can't drive it, I got it started tonight but I can't go anywhere. With no brake fluid, no clutch fluid, and half the body panels missing (oh...and no headlights or turn signals) I'm not going anywhere for a few days. BUT, it runs. You guys would not believe how effortlessly the car started after not running for 5 months. It started and purred like a brand new car.
^I can prolly whip up a little vid tonight, at least maybe a couple pics. I absolutely have to get the car road worthy tonight so i'll be working on it late after my night class. Otherwise I have no way to get to work tomorrow.
hey allblackedout you know that really thick fencepoll lookin bar that goes across the front of the dash once the dash is removed. well can that be removed while still keeping the passenger side airbag and anything else thats bolted to it? My reason for asking being that i saw in your pictures that you removed it and i want to remove it but still keep the dash and all the components behind it.
