^It's also something I recommend you do NOT do if you've never welded before. If you've never welded before (or a LOT actually) you could burn a hole through the sheet metal or warp it from running too much heat through the various sections. I'll digress though.

The sheet metal our cars are made out of is very thin. Low speed, low voltage. Only attempt if you have welding experience.

i have experience welding, and I know a secret to not burn thru or warp the sheet metal. It may take a long time but it is worth the time. If you spot weld (almost randomly) everywhere you can't f**k things up.

Speaking of the seam welding, a old friend of mine was over at my house yesterday and he said he would be willing to tackle seam welding some of the front end.

So there we have it, looks like I'll have a seam welded front end when I'm through with all this.

don't worry fella's, update coming tomorrow

Be VERY VERY careful how he welds those seams. Slow, slow slow. Leave LOTS of time to cool, and don't weld a straight line down the seam all at once (perfect way to warp the metal). Do an inch tops, let it cool, go to the opposite side, do an inch, let it cool, go to some other part and do an inch, let it cool, etc.

I'm sure we're repeating ourselves but I can't stress enough how much patience and time is needed to do a proper seam weld job. Maybe I'll post some pics up this summer when I start on my Sentra so you guys can get an idea. But once again, we're getting your thread off topic here so...

I'm actually not 100% sure i'm going to have him do a seam weld or not. I donno, it's all up in the air right now. Shit I'm even contemplating building the motor while it's out.

Anyway, I'm angry! My dad took his camera without me knowing so now I can't upload the pics and give you guys an update. I gotta wait until later for him to email them to me when I'm back at school. The engine is out and everything. Pics to come in about 2 or 3 hours...

Cool. BTW, I have another idea for what's going in your trunk...

Air tank and compressor for an airbag setup.

lol nope. airbags aren't good for pure performance. Coilovers are much better for pure hardcore cornering ability, which is what i'm after; the most retarded handling 1st gen altima on the east coast. And I only say the east coast cuz I know redlion isn't on the east coast and neither is drunkmunky.

You guys have guessed so many things yet no one knows what i'll be putting in the trunk. Muah ha ha...sneaky sneaky

"most retarded handling 1st gen altima on the east coast"

Interesting. Red Lion is Central, I'm 6 hours away from you.

Here is my suspension & brake setup so you have a guideline for what to get or what to "beat"

Hankook Ventus RS2 Z212 – 235/40/18
18" RH PH5600 6-SPOKE
Eibach Camber Bolts
1” Wheel Spacers all around
Hawk HPS pads all around
D2 Coil-overs 9k Front 7k rear
Stillen Front-Strut tower brace
Liquid-Ink Front lower control Arm Brace
Tein S14 Inner tie Rods
Z32 Outer Tie Rods
Custom Front Lower Control Arm w/ Energy Suspension Bushings
Front Whiteline sway-bar
Front 12.2” 2 Piece Aluminum Rotors
Front Wilwood Dynalite Caliper
MMM (Momentum Motor Sports Caliper flex Brace)
Custom Front Stainless Steel Brake Lines
Front Taz (Racingline) Endlinks
Custom Steel Rear Rotor Bracket from the B13/P10
Custom Rear Toe Linkages a.k.a. Modified Megan S14 toe Brackets
Rear Teknafit Stainless Steel Brake Lines
Rear 11.4” z31 rear ROTOR
Custom Rear Parallel Linkage Bars made from Megan Brackets & Coleman racing Aluminum hex pipe
Rear Stillen/Suspension Tech. Sway Bar w/ Energy Suspension Bushings
Rear Taz(Racingline) Endlinks

Red Lion has quite the unique list as well. Both of our altimas handle *alright* for 4 door sedans so, I would expect you to do much better than us. We have quite a few complaints about our own setups and much improvements to be made.
