Exclamation Fuel Smell In Cabin

Hey gents, just wanted to get your thoughts.....recently, I've been getting a strong fuel smell in the cabin, particularly after acceleration and after idling for more than 10 seconds or so. I have less than a quarter-tank of gas, so I ruled out over-filling of the tank. I also checked around the car while idling, and pressing the accelerator, but no leaks at all. For all you hard-a$$es out there, yes, I did a search but it yielded little-to-nothing. Any ideas?

Cheers.

You might have a leaking fuel injector.

Check very closely at the hose clamps for the fuel filter and for fuel rail. If they're wet...well, you know the rest...

Yeah check around the fuel lines delivering fuel to the fuel rail. I once changed my fuel filter and things were exactly very tight. Once I tightened everything up, the smell went away.

alrighty, I'll check those things this morning. I had it inspected a few hours after I posted this, and it passed both emission and inspection, just in case anyone cares ha.

It smells like raw gasoline straight from the pump. I know the other smell, I've had that problem too....

haha something funny is im having the same dam problem i just did a full tuneup on the alty and i had a strong fuel smell... come to find out my fuel line from under the fuel filter is leaking... i tried tightening the clamp and changing it and no luck.. so i bought a 3ft goodyear fuel line and new clamps hopefully that fixes the problem.

have you messed with the fuel pump under the rear seat? In mine, the cap and gasket weren't installed correctly. Just one more checkpoint

Nah, I havent touched the pump under the rear seat. I checked around the fuel filter along with the hoses, and had my brother press the accelerator, and no leaks...hmmm.
