What does the "ALT.S" fuse control? It is located under the hood in the fuse box by the battery. I found out that it was blown last night, but hte car was running like normal. Now I am just curious what it is for.
Is it a 10A fusible link? Sounds like its the Alternator Sense wire. Which would be used by the alternator's voltage regulator to sense the battery voltage.
jserrano I think you are correct. What does it do if it is blown vs. if it is a new fuse? The car ran fine either way. I had my alternator replaced a year ago.
In all honesty, it should have set the charge lamp, which gets set whenever the voltage regulator detects an under- or over-voltage condition, loss of battery Sense wire, loss of battery B+, or the alternator field winding is bad. That's the confusing part for me.
