there are dozens of dynos in the neighborhood of 160whp with fewer mods but after bieng on the dyno twice myself and after seeing the dynos on import tuner ive stopped believing half the bs thats posted on the net.all the dynos that ive known for a fact to be reliable have been lower than expected.truth is naturally aspirated hp is very difficult and more so in an engine with little aftermarket support.

Interesting, I remember a thread/article when one EMS came out that made a good bit more but I don't recall which one. If I get time to dig it up, I'll report back....I didn't read the IT article but that's crazy since JWT ECU's running rich still make 8-10+whp...

Those numbers could have been adjusted ith SRdet injectors, N62 maf, adjustable FPR, and larger fuel pump.. However, for the cost of the EMS alone, and still only make 160-170 wheel, its not worth the money.
fuel system upgrades will make 0 diffrence.the stock fuel system can fuel up to 188whp without losing efficiency.the stock maf on the s14 isnt as restrictive as the s13 maf.the stock s14 is like 2.5" opening versus 3" opening on the n62 maf.
the most streetable setup i have seen by far is this guy.all dynos with a/c p/s and pump gas.the dynos will give you an idea of the restrictions at what hp level.
200 whp is not enough for my pig of an Altima. 3000+ lbs needs 260 whp at the least imo.
wish I had 10 g's to get this car pushing some good power numbers already...

i hear you but honnestly even by todays standards 260whp isnt much.even moderate performance oriented cars like the bmw 335i push about 300whp bone stock and come with warranty to back it.i dont feel like a car has to make crazy power for it to be fun to drive.aslong as it has enough to get out of its own way and is good on gas the rest is history.if i want a rush the nitrous is reliable, consistant, and just a squeeze away.
Personally, I'm tired of this era of midsize cars ($15k-$30k range) having so little stock horsepower. They could at least throw in something with 275+ HP. Thats why so many Chevy cars are such a disappointment. Though, I did enter a contest to win a Chip Foose customized Chevy Cruze. Not an impressive car stock, but I imagine its been Foosed under the hood at least a little bit.
The only car I've driven thats fun thus far is my mother's 2007 V6 Camry (268hp). I'm kinda hoping to inherit it in a year or two when my folks get something new. Though, its a little awkward getting used to such a short first gear. You blink and you're in second.

Hmmm, you cant compare apples to oranges here. Take a look at the cars that are out now. the altima is just as competitive at the strip as thy are. Before you go flameing and throwing your fists in the air, you have to remeber that our cars fall in the same class as civic, forte, elantra, etc.. you cant go compare your moms V6 camery... I could do the same with my grandmothers 05 Max. Oh, btw... Civic Si is not in the same class of car as the altima...
the si might not be a high end car but imo its a really underestimated car.it would be hard to find another naturally aspirated 4 cylinder that offers its level of performance.ive lost count of how many videos ive seen stock civics outperforming cars who arent remotely of the same class.just to name a few:
That was my impression, too, Bee. Even if I won the car, I'd probably just sell it and get something I actually like. First time I've seen a Foose design I didn't like.
