make sure the relief valve is facing upwards, not downwards.
relief valve? is that the little hole with the small stick dangling? what are the consequences if installed wrong? I didn't check for that Billy. honestly I don't know what position its in

shit, it has to be facing up. it says on the thermostat itself that it needs to face up
lol. damn, didn't even catch that. I'll check it today.
turns out it wasn't my alternator. after I put in the new water pump, and alternator, I started her up and the same shit was happening as when she died on the turnpike. I cranked her, and my brother watched under the hood.
turns out the power steering pump is shot. it's pulley isn't spinning, the bearing must have failed. it's getting replaced today.
You gotta keep a multi-meter in your car at all times.
If your alternator wasn't working, your battery amperage would have dropped like a brick while the car was on.
This isn't the first story that I've heard of 2nd gen power steering pumps breaking down. 1st gens never had that problem. You may want to check rock auto, and look up the different manufacturers. Perhaps the 1st gen unit/manufacturer is a better unit.
Your lucky Stanza. Check this bullshit out, it totally seized up:
Not enough time to find out about the 1st gen ps pump manufacturer. Will have to look at that at a later time.
new pulley going in too:
my brother at work:
damn, I did end up putting the Nismo stat upside down. good looking Drunkmunky. I removed it and set it correctly. but the Nismo stat doesn't say "top" like the OEM one. That's why I paid it no attention. I do remember looking at the Nismo stat thoroughly. I should've looked at the OEM one too though. a stupid fukc up
two wheels up! trips me out every time I see this:

Glad to hear you're getting the PS pump straightened out and good catch on the thermostat. Definitely don't wanna run it for any length of time with it flipped around.
I love seeing the whole side come up too. Except mine is due to my trunk bracing. There's a few raised entrances around here where I can feel it tri-pod when pulling in. The first time I felt it, it was so weird.
new water pump, new alternator, and a new ps pump. back in business
just got back from a test drive. everything is better then before. just have to get a mishimoto fan hold down kit to replace the one that broke. it's driving me crazy seeing it like that.

so im driving in to work this morning. car is running fine, no issues...up until im off the turnpike and hitting city streets. sitting at a light my oil pressure gauge flickers. all this driving now is taking its toll on a 10+ yr old car. i see a steady drop of oil falling pretty much from the Alternator area. curious to see how much oil i lost when i get off work. now back under the car to see what the issue is now.
rear main seal, and or the timing chain cover i suppose
Dude I'm ready to give the other car away, I'm tired of looking at it, and i can't even find the title for it. I just want it gone. I'm going to save up whatever money I will get in the next few months and plan my trip out of Florida, back into GA. Florida has been a bad experience all around for me.
