I still got the original alternator on mine. I've been thinking about buying a junker and throwing it in the trunk - especially after I change the belt next summer and mess around with the tension.
I had what I think was the original alternator until about a month or so after I bought the car, at which point it stopped working and ate my battery on the interstate. Pulled one out of a junker over a year ago and haven't looked back!
