The crankshaft sensor on this car is just an OBD-II requirement. The spark in reverse order goes spark plugs, wires, distributor, and coil. From 97 and up the coil is built in to the distributor itself as is the camshaft sensor. If the coil or sensor has gone bad the car will not start or it will start and run very badly.
