Signal Flasher Questions

Wondering style and location of the turn signal flasher in the 1G. Want to change out to LED lighting and if I need to, will use either an electronic flasher or resistor packs. Thanks for any feedback!

Should be right under the driver side dash. That's where it is on 2G's.

Yup, what Bee said.

If you do decide to go the LED route do yourself a favor and custom build your boards. That way you'll guarantee the components used and will actually get a better output than with a PnP bulb. PnP bulbs do not use the same optics that the incandescent bulb uses which generally gives poor results.

Is there a way to run a light from the turn signal to the reflective side markers for our 1st gens? I have seen some with the markers lit, but mine don't seem to do that. It would help a night when trying to turn since people don't seem to pay attention to a car that's trying to get over, or should I go the turn signal in mirror route?

Wiring the side marker light to flash with the turn may be difficult. I assume, you'll have to wire in a diode to affect that light how you would want. Could go with J or E style side turns in the fenders... or the mirrors as mentioned. I made the front turn signal be marker lamps because it just seemed like it was missing something. I modded the lens socket and used 3-wire bulb sockets from another vehicle.

Noticed you mention you lost your grill, Sho-nuff. I could make one like this for you...

I have 42 SMD LEDs for most locations. All exterior lights are going LED, minus heads. Just don't want the fast flash. Picked up the resistors to put on the turn bulb circuits. The HVAC head will get the LED treatment as soon as I find the ones I bought. Need to change one in the dash anyway.

Nice. Couldn't I just splice the wire and piggy-back off the current, or will that overload the fuse?

Yeah, The grill is nice, bit I think I will just get another 93-94 grille.
