sunroof leak

i have a 93 se with the moonroof and whenever it rains really hard or i wash my car my roof leaks. water drips from the light console which really bothers me cause of the wires and electricity. it also gets a good portion of my interior ceiling wet. just wondering if anyone else had the problem and how they fixed it..thanks.

Change your sig homie.

i have the same problem.

one day my dad took my car for a drive somewhere when I was asleep and he noticed the same thing so guess what he did.

HE FU*KING SEALED THE SUNROOF SHUT WITH SOME TYPE OF GLUE

Now I need to buy a new sunroof, that was probely the stupidist thing my dad has ever done, i dont know why he even drove my flippin car, SH*T.

I HATED MY DAD FOR THAT, but i got over it.

Well it still leaks a little threw the light console but nuthin has happened yet.

my family had a 93 gxe which did the exact same thing.. and it kept getting worse and worse... you just need to replace the weather seals in your sunroof, then no more water will get it...

I drive a slow car.

On the front corners of the roof, there are 2 drain tubes. One of mine was cogged, and it was causing a leak like yours, and it would drip into the sunroof switch inside.

I first tried a coat hanger, but it didn't work too well. I found some thin, flexible wire in my folk's garage and pushed it into the tube and worked whatever was clogged free. The tubes drain right behind the front wheels. I unscrewed my side skirt and found it.

Give that a shot. Worked perfectly for me.

Fill the ****er with silicon!! Check the strip for cracks and repair if repairable. Otherwise replace weatherstrip.

There are 4 drains on the Altima "Moonroof" 2 front, by windshield pillars. 2 rear, one on each side of rr window. On a flat surface pour a small amount of water into roof tray. Look for water draining by all 4 tires. If there is no water by any tire that drain is clogged or pinched. lol

Ok hears the real reason that its leakin, there is a drain panel that slides along with the sunroof back and forth. Its not the seal so dont let anyone talk you into replacing the seal, i know i did it myself, and it didnt fix anything. Its actually normal for water to come in throught the sunroof, but it is supposed to drain out. What happens most of the time, is this drian panel that slides along the sunroof track unhooks and is left in the back of the roof. It has these clips that hold it to the sunroof for when you slide it back and forth, but when you pop your sunfroof up its supposed unhook, and then when you close it, its suppoed to hook up again, so the problem is that these clips are worn out. and i dont think its possible to replace them without replacing the roof

i had same prob but got it fixed the roof was out of alignment which ment the back of the moonroof was lower than the front i had them align it and it stoped. and the water did short my up and down switch so i changed that now all good

I went through an automatic car wash for the first time and mine leaked, but it seamed as if the back of the glass was being pushed down under the pressure.
