My First Engine Modification

HKS Mega Flow Intake. Taken from a R32 GTS-T4 RB20 Skyline (friend stationed in Japan) and modified the adaptor plate to fit the Alty.

Only way I can see the MAF failing is due to excess oil from the filter.

thanks. im finally starting to get under the hood, but my main goal right now is to keep the car drivable and get out of debt. im in the process of replacing the driverside wheel bearings at the moment. it was so f***ed up that i have to replace the hub too. its like as soon as i fix one thing something else goes wrong. but hey, the car is almost a decade old. i should expect nothing less.

Nice, you can say you have an intake no one here has.

Does the HKS even need oiling,I thought only the K&N and JWT Popchargers need re-oiling after cleaning.

yeah but anyone can buy the hks filter and put it on. the only thing that was modified was the mounting plate. the skyline maf is slightly larger than the altima maf so i had to drill new mounting holes for it to fit. and in case you were wondering why i didnt use the skyline maf, its because the connections are different. the skyline was a 5 pin and the altima was a 4 pin

wow... those are some ignorant comments. no way in hell can he kill his MAF sensor. no way in hell can you kill your MAF sensor from an oiled air filter. That has never been proven.
