One question, what kind of filter are you applying to give the cars almost a surreal appearance? I know they are extremely polished, but the effect is a little exaggerated. I like it, but wanted to know what you were doing to the images for them to come out this way.
HDR merges will exaggerate reflections as well as fine details. I actually do my best to reduce it, you should see what it looks like before I make adjustments...yikes!
The only problem is that when you reduce those exaggerations, you also lose detail in other things. So its a balancing act. That's why some of my pictures aren't consistent with the others (aside from the non HDR ones).
Once again another great HDR photoshoot Spike. I've got some clouds outside and it'd be a good day for a HDR photoshoot here but my car is super dirty. You're now taking advantage of some killer Hawaii scenery around you and getting amazing shots.
How did you edit the first pic?? I had to look twice before realizing both cars in the image were yours. Did you use HDR merge with 2 separate images?
I agree with others, if only you had the wheels turned the other way for the shot with the 3 cars overlooking the city, would have been perfect! I wish I knew some local Altimas to go snap some pics with. I need to find some better locations for a shoot, all we have around here are a bunch of trees lol.

You put the camera in a fix location, preferably on a tripod, and then take 2 pictures with the car in each direction. Then you take the two pictures and open them up in photoshop or gimp and put each picture on its own layer, the pic with the car closer to the camera in the foreground and the picture with the car farther from the camera in the background. Then you just erase parts of the foreground layer to reveal the background car.

Yeah they're 2 HDR images. It was a bitch to match the exposures and everything whilst doing the merges. If you look real closely, the right side is a little off in lighting.

That's what I figured you did... I've always wondered what photomatrix would do in a merge with two different compositions (with the same framed background). I thought that if a subject wasn't in all of the images (at least in the same location) being used to merge, that they may become partially transparent depending on the percentage of images they were in... But I guess it turned out for you.
Yeah exposure and all the settings could be difficult when you snap a shot, go move your car and come back for another shot. I guess one way to minimize those variables is to turn off all the auto settings on your camera, so make your camera take the pictures at a set exposure, aperture, white balance, and even manual focus, etc.
PS, I forgot to mention - DAMN thats a lot of bugs!!

Oh no, I created 2 separate HDR images in photomatix, and then combined then in photoshop. If I did what you were talking about, it would appear to be an overlay.
Fyi I leave the Island come next Thursday..... Back to Cali ahoy!!!
btw nice pics... Ill forever hate you guys for this.
Sorry dude, it was a week day and considering how you were busy the last time we had a meet I figured you'd be working. It was a weekday after all.
I'm going to assume that you are going to come back since you told us about this trip up to Cali a while ago. On top of that you didn't sell your car and you just purchased an eracings bumper....I see your posts.

High res pics are up! Link to my deviantart site has been posted in the first post. I only uploaded the ones that I thought were the best of the batch. If there is a picture that was not posted in high res and you want it as your wallpaper, please let me know which one and I will add it. Feel free to check out my other pictures as well.

Looked fun guys. Great pics.
Spike...do you ever get any pics of your car blown up and framed? I could see a couple of those pics on a wall.
That's for me and my gf to know
I actually don't have any of them blown up and framed. I think its kind of weird to have pictures of my own car scattered around my little apartment haha. Desktop wallpapers will do.
