WAI Mod but a lil different

I was at the junkyard lookin at a 300ZX and noticed the intake pipe was laying on the motor.
I figured id be able to use some of it to replace the stock piping between my air box and throttle body.

I took it along with the grommets
the pieces are hooked together backwards just for ease of carrying through the JY

section to be used

nice and smooth

Cut down to size

installed in my car... definitely a bit more room w/o the resonator pieces

full engine bay shot

the pipe is gonna be painted black to match better
for $5bux i think it was a worth while mod lol

the difference in sound was VERY surprising
especially at 4K rpm it SCREAMS lol

lmk what youse guys think

the pipe is normally plastic.. the new pipe looks metal.. so, yes it would sound different.

just removing your snorkal and duct taping the bottom of the airbox makes it sound a lout louder.

when I get to 4K its WAY louder than before
(before + just the snorkel and bottom resonator taken off)

below 4k it isnt much of a diff.

above 4k it feels like its a bit peppier but it might just be the sound messin with me

the bottom of the airbox isnt taped on mine i left it open as well as the front hole

O and to altima09; yes ill take a picture for yah and post it in here klook late tonight or tomm.

I taped mine up because I live in WNY, so we get snow and rain.

do you have a k&n filter or just a stock filter? I got a k&n after I couldn't find a maf adapter locally. I'll say that the first few days I didn't notice anything, but after a couple days, it seemed louder.. could also just have been the weather.. in the morning my car sound so loud compared to it at night.
