Should be a switchable option... plus I've had my hand caught before in a window when I was little, it just leaves a mark for a day or so, it doesn't break anything. Now, slamming your finger in the car door, THAT'S a different story...
On Infiniti I35 it has a pressure sensor of some sort, if it window rolling up is blocked, it will stop and immediately roll down. My friend always wants me to put my finger in there while he is closing it, but i do not want to test it.

I thought this means like in some new VW where, when you put on a turn signal, the car will tell you if you can actually switch lane or not. I can't find the exact article but googling will have many results smartmicro - Lane Change Assist
I read recently that this will not go into full production because of safety issues in America.

With newer Nissans (anthing since around 2000), if it has auto up windows it has anti-pinch. The system monitors how fast the window motor is running and if it slows down unexpectedly it stops the window and backs it up. Historically, Nissan has had major reliability issues with these systems, but it seems that around '05 they greatly improved them.
i have to check but i'm pretty sure my 07 has roll up and down... you hit unlock to roll down.. and lock will send them back up.. my old 2000 Maxima had it. for sure.. I'll check on this one for the roll up..

if the Alti's did this, then why would aftermarket companies be producing modules for this purpose?
does having auto-up windows even make sense? i mean you have the auto-down feature so that when youre walking to your car you can roll the windows down to air it out for a few secs before you get in, but what would be the benefit of having auto-up? so you can roll the windows up was youre walking away from the car? i mean wouldnt you just roll the windows up before you got out? lol....maybe im missing something here....i mean yea it would be nice for show, but not worth it for the factory to make it since it would serve no purpose but for show.

I find that I roll them up remotely much more then I lower them remotely. I like to leave the windows vented an inch or two. It's nice being able to raise the windows from inside the house without going outside.
I also like to drive with the windows down. It is nice being able to roll them up as I walk away instead of doing it while parking.
so wait....you can actually roll your windows up with no after market modules?

Nah it's nothing like that. No radar, or anything. IMO it's hardly even advanced technology. It's just a function that flashes the turn signals 3 times is all. It's probably just a timer module.

I've always said I'd much rather have auto-up than auto-down. Auto-down is okay, but if I'm closing the windows it's for a reason. I couldn't care less how quickly the windows roll down.
The auto-down is annoying too for any of us who have issues with pockets accidentally rolling down windows, unlocking the car, panicking, opening the trunk... etc.

So they're pretty easy to install, huh?
I'm about as electronically inclined as a wax candle, so I dunno.

It all depends on your own abilities. I find them pretty easy to install, but I was a car stereo/alarm installer while I went to college for an electronics degree.
If you can take a door panel off, use a volt meter, and make reliable splices then the installation isn't bad at all.
