***Fujita F5 SRI installation w/ pictures***

so this is what i see as i pull into the driveway today...

all laid out...NOS drink, plate frame, and all.

*
*
*
---NOW FOR THE INSTALL---
1) disconnect the battery. just as a habit i have, i disconnect it any time i am under the hood doing any kind of work. also removing it resets the ECU and the air/fuel mixtures etc. disconnect the "–" black cable.

after its removed just tuck the cable aside and out of the way so it doesnt make contact with the battery again.

2) i went ahead and removed the grill mounted air duct by removed the two screws indicated in the two pictures with the wrench on it.

after the screws are out simply lift, twist, and pull it out of the air box.

3) next go ahead and take an allen wrench and removed the three bolts in the engine cover easily seen in the picture below.

this is what the engine bay should look like after the front air duct and the engine cover is removed.

4) go to the MAF sensor and remove the two phillips screws from either corner of it.

5) before pulling it out of the air box, you MUST unclip the (2) two pronged metal clips that hold the MAF cables to the air box. if this is not done and you attempt to remove the MAF, something WILL brake.

once out set to the side. i layed mine on the engine block between the spark plugs.

6) unscrew the two worm clamps on either side of the black rubber elbow pipe seen on the left and right of the picture.

7) you can then pull it free from the engine and the air box

8) put in some elbow grease and remove the rubber pipe from the black intake tube...took me a few minutes and a couple sore fingers but i got it off

9) unscrew the bolt holding the air box down and unhook it from its spot.

after the removal of the air box the engine bay should look like so

10) screw in the MAF sensor into the intake tube using the new hex screws

11) reattach the rubber pipe to the new intake sliding it up until only about 1.5 inches remains on the thin metal pipe it goes on to.

12) attach the vibration mount to the car.

13) slide the intake vibration mount onto the rubber mount.

POLISH UP AND ENJOY!!!

thanks. feel free to ask any questions you may come across when you get the intake.

on a side note: fujita sent me the wrong vibration mount. the one they sent me was a male-female mount while the altima requires a male-male. i contacted them and i am having one shipped out tomorrow free of charge, no questions asked. poor quality control but fantastic customer service. i give the product/company/install a solid 9/10. lol

Excellent writeup. The pictures make everything crystal clear. Have you noticed any difference in low-end torque? I experienced a drop in my butt-dyno when moving from the stock intake to an Injen on my Maxima. lol

Of course today wasn't really the day to test. Also I'd make sure you save all the original components. I lost some then when I went to trade my vehicle in, one of the dealers gave me a hard time about making aftermarket 'modifications'. I can only imagine what they'd say with a lease. B*tches. :P

hah thanks. one of my other hobbies. these photos were taken from my Samsung NV-11 PAS (point and shoot). i have another samsung SLR, an olympus evolt e330, and a nikon D200.

by the way, these pics were all taken from inside a dimly lit garage because of the rain we have on the island at the moment. im surprised myself the pics came out so clearly. now people can see them more clearly.

very clear photos. it seems that installing intake is not that hard as long as one has the tools to unscrew screws/bolts.

YUP, KUDOS, they'll probably want this for the DIY writeup thread, when it gets put together.

yea definately. that thread is going to be the longest thread probably on this forum.all the DIY mods with pics and text in one thread . what theyll probably just have to do is just make individual threads for each mod and then just link them all together into one. idk. just got a little off topic there but anyway...anyone have any questions or comments on the actual intake.
