Is that possible to low the noise of an aftermarket exhaust ?
I just installed a Nismo exhaust 2 weeks ago. Now, my parents want me to replace it to the stock exhaust, because it's too loud. The thing is i threw it away. How can i possibly low the noise of that Nismo exhaust ? Many Thanks
First, a life lesson is to be learned here - don't ever throw anything away that came off your car unless it's an old filter or something that is broken. Keep parts (for later when you want to trade/sell, or if the replacement part breaks) or sell them so you at least make some money, but don't throw anything away.
Second, tell your parents to f*ck off. LOL The Nismo exhaust is NOT loud. Are you sure there are no leaks?
You could invest in a larger resonator (the Nismo one is a tad small, I suppose) and remove that mid piece (measure the length of it first, it may require you to cut onto that long Y pipe that extends to the mufflers if the resonator you buy is longer than this piece) and weld a larger one onto the flanges and bolt it back up.

About how to low the noise of exhaust. I still don't understand your explanation. Can a muffler shop low the noise for me ?
nismo made that exhaust to have better air flow and tone, now...
How old are you? You can afford a new altima and still have to live with your parents? wowzers, someone has to get their priorities straightened up.
Anyway, ill tell you what, give me your nismo system, and ill make you a stock exhaust.
Oh and to answer your question, if you take your 700 dollar exhaust to a muffler shop to get it hacked, i WILL find you and hurt you, its because of people like you who have to much money that our economy is poo right now...

how much do you guys want to buy ? I won't sell it for under $650. I'd rather buy a resonator instead. Oh my parents live in different place, but they often come n visit me. That's why my car become their transportation. One thing for sure it won't be quiet since i'm gonna install the intake few days later.
Like everyone else said, the Nismo exhaust isn't loud by any means. But in your case, it's too loud - understandable.
Also, everyone mentioned the resonator - that would be the most cost effective for your situation. You can keep the high flow system and the resonator doesn't take away from your flow. Some cars have two resonators on them to lower the noise even more.
You could also apply a ceramic coat to the the whole system. It will also reduce the noise and protect your pipes for the long run. Look online or auto store, they make a specific ceramic paint for this process.

Just tell them to live with it and keep your exhaust. If they don't like it they can rent a car, we all love our parents but after a certain point you aren't gonna listen to every frikken thing they say. You gonna take advice on which girlfriend you should have too?
Tell them to buy you a lexus just for them to use if they don't want to hear an engine.
Alrighty, i understand they are your parents and all...but who the F are they to tell you to make your car a certain way, especially since you dont live under their roof.
x2 on the "if you dont like it, go waste money on a rental."
I'm happy my mom and pops are cool, my dad drove a '79 ford bronco before he passed, which was load as hell. My mother on the other hand drove an old ford galaxy, before she finally junked it and got this 06 honda CRV.

Asian has very strict rule in family man! Everything must be in order. I will try to explain to them tonight. Mostly they think I'm gonna race with that thing, and waste more gas. By the way, my gas mileage is getting better with this exhaust. Hopefully, they will understand me LOL
