Guess I was surprised that a load and speed seem to greatly effect mpg results on the Altima whereas in my old Accord on the same trips my mpg only dropped 1-2 mpg. The Accord pretty much hit around 34 mpg on long trips (same routes as now) no matter the weather, my speed or payload. It wasn't as fun to drive though!

Last tank almost made 600, I was to chicken to push it because I knew the next gas station was a ways away. Stats on my last tank 595.7 miles on 18.091 gallons of gas, for a mpg of 32.927. Most of the driving was highway at 70-75 MPH with A/C on. Coming from a 2003 Ford F-150 supercrew with a 5.4 V8 I am really loving my 2.5 Altima.

I consistantly hit 560 miles on about 17 gals in the car, now that we have slowed down to 65 we are averaging 35.6 mpg and 605+ miles per tank

With 6MT in 6th gear it's hitting over 3k rpms for sure and that's where the gas mileage goes down for me, after about 2.5k rpms. With the 3.5SE i'm averaging 25-28 mpg city/hwy about 50/50, i usually take off pretty fast from stops though, if i drive it like a grandma i can get 30's but a few bucks to have fun is worth it, i think the tires are what's going to be expensive to replace.

I still find it extremely hard to believe that all of you are getting 600 regularly....I am babying the hell out of my car on this tank and ill let you know what I can come up with but I highly doubt that unless you are 95% highway with cruise set to 55...able to get 30 plus MPG. We shall see though.

My experience so far with the 2.5 is that you can get really good MPGs on the HWY if you keep it under 65 mph (over 40 mpg on one road trip for me). City driving is not so impressive, closer to 24 - 25 mpgs even when I am driving like a grannie and coasting a lot. Keep in mind my city driving is during rush hour, lot of stop and go.

600 miles per tank is possible, but you're right, it's going to be mostly HWY miles.

i once got 470 miles on a 19.1 gallon fill up. that was a 60/40 split city/highway.

my average is 425 on around 18.5 gallons with a 80/20 split city/highway. which unfortunately is more common. i wish i could stay on the highways a little more.

taking a trip to galveston for the 4th, should get 500+ easy even with a car full of people and luggage.

I wish I could get 600 miles to the tank. I hardly get 400, thats why I get for speeding up too much.

+1^ haha

it'll be impossible for me to join the 600 club... i'm so use to zipping pass slow cars. But yeah, whoever said adding an intake, exhaust, and ect. will save you gas... your wrong. just think of it this way, Nissan hires all these engineers and run all these test and ect. to make their vehicles run best the way it is stock.

Add me to the 600-mile club.

I've broken 600 miles a few times, actually. Usually on road trips (about 90% highway, (70-72 MPH), it'll average about 32-33 MPG, with 35 MPG easily achievable if I keep it under 70.

i get between 400 to 430 miles per tank on my 08 2.5. i fill it up to 20 gal and it costs me here in miami $82.00 per fill up and i use Shell 87. I think i run it on fumes! I'm pretty happy with that.

I'm on city 70% and Hwy 30% and i try to use cruise control as much as i can.
