Fujita Air Intake

So I just received my intake in the mail yesterday and I am going to get it installed but the person who says that they would do it for me says that he has heard from his mechanics that Nissan has some type of air system that is sensitive and might set off the check engine light if they try to install it.

I told him I heard it was a super easy install and have never heard of that before. What kind of place could I get it installed and and about how much would it run me?

Also I was wondering any possible things that maybe messed up during the installation process like he was saying about the check engine light.

Just do it yourself, its really easy, and much more fun. Also I have not heard of anyone who installed the intake properly get a CEL

Seriously, it will take 30 minutes, 45 minutes tops. It can't get any easier than this.

yup, you just need some simple tools and an allen wrench to get the cover off.

The SES will setoff a few times till your ecu gets used to the mass airflow...when that happens just do a search for the ses procedure. It'll post your codes and you can clear it yourself

It won't trip your check engine light. I just installed my Fujita intake on Monday on my '07 SE. If you can pump your own gas, you can install this intake. You need a small allen wrench (provided with the intake), a 10mm and 11mm deep socket, a screw driver, and that's it! When you are removing the factory airbox make sure you unclip the electrical wires that are attached before forcing it out.

I used a pair of needle pliers to get the MAF sensor clips off if that helps.

The guy that told you about the problem is not totally incorrect. Nissan did have a MAF sensor that was very weak and easy to fry with aftermarket intake and causes the check engine light to come, but it effected only some of the earlier generation Altima and Sentra. You won't have a problem with this current generation of Altima.
