I bought my used 2007 3.5SE + Tech for $21,900 with 15k miles. $23,600 after fees. I think that is pretty good for a car that was over $32k new.
They were asking $24,500 online. I went in just to look at the car in person and they were trying to get me in the car that night. I was like no and they just kept going down on the price, but I still didn't buy it that night, plus they thought I was financing through them. Even offered to let me drive it for the night. Still turned them down. So the next day I came in with my pre-approved loan check and a guy that was a former Nissan salesman. He pissed them off because he called them on every trick they were trying to pull, and they went up on the price from the night before saying that "Big boss won't approve it," so we ended up leaving as they became asses to deal with. I was actually upset because it was the one I wanted, but the guy I was with told me they would call back. And sure enough about 4 hours later the Director of Sales called and asked me what happened and I told him that I had a very bad experience, and he pretty much gave it to me for the price I had them agree upon the night before. Went back and got it the same day. The original salesman was kissing ass at this point!! It was so funny to watch. Plus it was the end of the month.
Kalon, yes it does feel good to be able to get this car on my own. No cosigner, and I am 22 also. And my insurance came out to be less that $100 a month!!!! Although I am currently spliting the note with my mom because she wanted my previous car but couldn't pay upfront, so that was the deal since I couldn't get trade in on it. I may pay the whole note plus her half, if I am comfortable or I may save it and gain interest on it.
Hmm..so this gives me an idea of how much more a 07 3.5 would have cost me prolly about $500 more. Never checked on 3.5 @ all. Cause my insurance on this on my own is $275. My interest rate is 6%.

DAMNIT!!! My insurance just all of a sudden went up to $132!!!! Right after I typed that post, I got an email! What are the odds!?!?! But thats what I was estimating it would cost before I bought the car. That $93 a month would have been nice. Well atleast they gave me an extra discount on my policy with the increase, so it would have been even higher.
But yeah, when I first started looking I thought I couldn't afford the 3.5, but I started looking at them on Autotrader.com. They had one I was watching where the price was dropping every week. It got down to $19,999 and it was a fully loaded 3.5SE w/27,000 mile. And sure enough 2 days later it was gone off of their listings. So that gave me a little hope. Also there were base 3.5SEs around $18-19k and a couple loaded ones for $21-22k for SLs and loaded SEs.
My insurance on my car is ~$100 per month (22/m) and unfortunately I'm still insuring my old Altima which has yet to sell. That's only ~$25 per month, though.
I've been getting quotes for an 09 3.5SE 6spd with Sport Package and Moonroof... and have gotten quotes for about invoice at 26,063 or so...

I'm on the other side of the country... on the East Coast... I wouldn't mind a slightly used 08... but the 3.5SE 6spd is hard to find... and I'm looking for a sedan... but we'll see... I think if I do get one... it'll be an 09... it'll be much easier to find...
Fully loaded(except navigation system, i know how to read a map ) 3.5SE w/ CVT Coupe '08 for 27,100. Got the VPP(Nissan Vehicle Purchase) from a buddy of a buddy. Saved about $5k just off the top and another $500 with college grad benefit and it's at 4.1% financed.
Oh, and insurance is $120/month, 23/m/2 accidents 5 years ago(luckly they don't count!).
