Thats pretty much what I payed for that car. I payed $26,900, 07 3.5 SE cvt premium black blonde leather. I think its a good price
I'm a little confused by what I've seen on edmunds/nissanusa/kbb does the Premium package come with floor mats? Or did you get those thrown in for free? If you got them to throw the mats in for free, did you ask for anything else? What all is reasonable to ask for? I'm also looking to get the windows tinted. Mats + tint worth asking for? Thanks all
Well the floor mats and splash guards aren't in the premium package but I think all cars with the premium package also have those items because it wouldn't make sense to have a car with the premium package but no floor mats. I didn't have to pay extra for any of that or destination because that is the deal I was able to work out. The dealership I went to is not a small dealership or in desperate need of customers so the price I payed should be pretty reasonable anywhere. For $26,900 I got a black 3.5 SE with premium, with floor mats, emergency kit, sports package, splash guards, and included destination...Cars like mine are stickering between $29-30 k...I would say $27-27.5 is the most you should pay...Apparentley it is a "rare" car, but that is because it doesn't sell as much...What have you been quoted?
The lowest I've been quoted as of now is $27,079. But, that is just 1 of 7 dealerships I'm in talks with. The other ones are all right around 27,200. I haven't tried to get them to go lower than the 27,079 yet. What do you think?
If I accept this offer, I will definitely make sure that mats, emergency kit, sports package, splash guards, and destination are all included.
always make sure you get the otd price also. sometimes a low price will add a high dealer charge. make sure you ask what all the fees are so you can cmpare apples with apples.

Thanks for the advice. I have been asking for total cost price quotes. So the quote I have been given is everything minus ttl. But I will make sure before I sign the dotted line that I'm not getting charged anything else besides ttl.
I'm sure others had trade allowances, so the "great deals" that some seem to be getting can be misleading. I got quotes from four dealerships and my trade allowance varied by $2300. Eventually went with the "best" deal. At the end of the day though, most of us bent over and took one.
God I love CVT!
if you are trading in, you should always look at it as two seperate deals. first deal w/ what price you are going to buy the new car for. once that is agreed upon, move on to the trade in. most dealers, strike that ...ALL dealers will try to get you one way or another. if they seem that they are giving you a good deal on the new car, then more than likely they are screwing you on the trade in. you would be better off selling to a private party then trading it in.

Either way you do it, know what your car is worth before hand and then shop around. The trade allowance is where the dealer gets the upper hand. In some states, sales tax is figured on the net price (after trade allowance is subtracted), which can help a little when deciding whether to sell privately.
One last question before I make the purchase guys. How much should I actually value where I buy the car from? For instance, the best price qoute I've been given is about 30 min away from me. There's a dealership .5 miles away from me that won't budge and is quoting around 500 more. Is it worth buying it further away? Or is there benefit in buying it at a closer dealership? What's all your thoughts. THis will be my first new car purchase. Thanks for all the comments!!!
You can take your car anywhere after you buy it, you will just tend to get slightly better service from the place where you buy it from. It's your choice.

I would go back to the closer dealership and tell them exactly what you intend to do. Assuming both cars are optioned the same, tell them you would rather buy from them but that they need to at least match the price quoted by the other dealership. If not, say thanks and walk. At that time you need to be ready to buy, but that should work.
^ agreed. it doesn't make sense that a dealership won't do business with you. just tell them straight out, this dealership gave me this OTD price, match it and I'll buy from you guys
Well, new owner chiming in here........Just bought a 3.5SL loaded with everything but the kick plates. MSRP was 32, 575...I paid 29, 900 or invoice, they didn't have the car I wanted so it is coming from a dealer 2 states away. Owned a Maxima 4 years ago and really liked it, but got rid of it when the kids started coming. Now I had to get rid of my company car due to a new policy ( had a Lexus). The 07 Altima had a better ride and was more fun to drive than the Maxima, so I went that route. Hope I won't be disappointed. What the concensus on extended warranties? I put about 30k miles/year on my cars with work and am wondering what a 100k warranty is selling for from nissan.
Hey guys, thanks for all the advice!!! Here's another question now. I've got my price nailed down finally and I'm going to seal the deal on Monday. Here's my question. The dealer wants me to put a 500 deposit down on the car. He says they don't have the car I want in state and have to have it delivered. I kind of find this fishy (I'm buying a dark slate 3.5 CVT premium package). I figured there'd have to be one in my area since I live in a big city. I told the dealer I wouldn't put a deposit down on a car w/ out seeing it first. He said they couldn't have it delivered unless I put the deposit down....and that he'd refund it if I didn't like the car...none of this makes sense to me. If they wanted to sell me the car I would think they'd just deliver it if it was out of state. I don't even believe it is out of state though!! haha. Can you guys weigh in on this again? Should I put a 500 down on it or tell him to stop f'n around w/ me? Thanks guys, I'm glad I found this site!!!
