HIDs 6000K lowbeam, 3000K fogs, signal light installed (56k warning)

First off I apologize for the quality of the pictures of my installation because I was using my phone. This installation is meant for lazy people, ie, I did not remove my bumper even though I managed to change my signal bulb, low beam, and fog lights. There are alot of zip tying involved, which is not the most aesthetic method of mounting the ballast but it works. I will explain what each picture shows and end with some night shots. Again my camera phone doesn't have macro mode therefore they are often blurry. OK here we go...

Low Beam bulb = H11
Fog Bulb = H11
Signal Bulb = 3157

Step 1 obviously would be removing the wheels and the plastic snap-ons that holds the fender wells together. In addition to the 5 snap-ons I removed, I also removed 2 screws from the bottom. After this you will be able to reach the housings for all three bulbs.

Here is a shot of the driver's side fog light bulb, its a simple twist off.

Here is a shot of the driver's side low beam bulb, also simple twist off. On the right you can see the 2 pre-threaded holes I will be talking about.

Now, in terms of mounting ballasts, there are some options: zip tie, double sided pads, or screw on. In the driver side, there exist about 3 pre-threaded holes but I do not know what size of screws it is, there is one that's size 10mm which I used to mount my fog light ballast. There are also 2 hollow holes (not threaded) that I used to zip tie my low beam ballast. I will show you below.

Here's a shot of my low beam ballast mount, where I used 2 zip ties which goes around the top and side rings from my ballast holder, this creates a more stable triangle.

Here's a shot of my fog light ballast mount, where I used a 10mm screw that goes right into the 10mm pre-threaded holes there. Again, there are 2 more above but they are not 10mm, I do not know what size since I dont have any screws to try on.

Here's a shot of my chromed-out hyper yellow signal bulbs inside the housing.

Now that we are done with the driver's side, the passenger side is only a little different. Right behind the fog light bulb is the windshield wiper fluid tank, which creates a good mounting place for the ballast but hard to reach/install the bulb.

Shot of the tank

Shot of the fog light ballast double sided taped to the tank

Here's a shot of the low beam ballast on the passenger side. I zip tied it the exact same way as I did in the driver's side. NOTE: there is no pre-threaded holes in this side.

WALAH! done! now gotta put the wheels back on...

Please feel free to ask questions since it's not a detailed installation thread. Thanks for looking! I will post night picture later once I get my nice camera back from my friend.

Alrite, just took some night pix,
Not a bad light cutoff for a non-projector (from insde the car)

The car is parked close to the garage door to show fog beams; that's why the white beams started to separate

Here's a shot of the creases that a member talked about, it's formed by the deflection lines inside our housing

Street view (outside of the car)

Direct housing view

Hyperyellow chrome signal bulb, this picture didnt do it justice, not sure why but the signal turned out a lil amber as well, but if you look at it in person it'll look like the bottom picture, I believe the colors sort of blended together.

it's suppose to look like this but rather dimmer since it's chromed out.

No problem glad to help.

Just came across another small problem, I was surveying my car again last night and saw that my passenger side fog light ballast (the one double sided taped to the reservoir) is exposed through the fender well vents (shown below). In order to prevent mud/water getting to my ballasts, I simplely taped the vents up on both the driver's side as well as the passenger side.

What brand are the fogs? How well did they fit in the stock location?

I have the OEM HIDs but want to swap out the fogs for something a bit more attractive.

Hi, my fog hid comes from a brand called O-Nex, they have their own website you can check out O-NEX. As far as the bulb fitment in the fog housing, it's pretty well fit other than the fact that it creates tons of glare due to the lack of the focal block <-- I made up this word but in essence it's the dome shape "cup" that you can find in ur low beam compartment which blocks out the glares. I'm a little worried over this fact because it might be a cop magnet just because of its unique color and tons of glare, not to mention my 20% tint and lack of a license plate in the front (took it out this morning). but owells, if they really have nothing else to do other than giving out missing license plate tickets in the parking lot then so be it.

If you want i can take a picture of how the bulb look like in the housing. let me know.

Good luck with the n00bs man... they never quit, we just have to keep policing the boards! Anyhow, those things are so great looking, makes me want to upgrade!

Looks good man, I like always like yellow/white contrast! How much did the HID fog kit cost you? I'd like to see a pic of the fog bulb housing whenever you can get it.

Hi, thanks! i got the O-Nex kit from a friend of mine sellin them locally in LA, but you can order them on their website at O-NEX. I will take a pic of the fog housing as soon as i get a chance.

Oh and one more important thing i forgot to say!! I did have to shave a little bit of the bulb base becasue it was not a prefect fit (another member has address the same problem with the H11s when he was installing the HIDs)
