mine seems like it is losing power because it wont lock and unlock from far distances like it used to
you cant charge the I-Key and if the battery starts to get low it will show a message on the lcd screen under your gauges. so the only way to "recharge it" is to put a new battery in it.

Its covered in your owners manual section 3 and section 8. It has been discussed in the forum many times.
One more time:
Intellikey cannot be charged, period.
The slot is for when the battery in the I-key goes bad, you stick it in there to start the car.
When the battery goes bad, replace the battery with a lithium CR2032, you can buy one from a dollar stores they are for 2 for a buck.
When in doubt read the owners manual.

Isn't the 2007 Nissan's Intelikey have a charging dock on the left hand side of the console? Just plug it in there and it should charge. I put the key in that slot every week or so for a night.
okay, whoever told you that is full of BS. The iKey does not charge period. It uses regular akaline button batteries. Once it dies, it needs to be replaced. The slot only contains a sensor so that iKeys with weak batteries can be detected and the car will start.

Nope you are wrong and who ever told you that is a moron. Why the hell would you leave the key in the car for the night? Any can steal your car if you leave the key there.

Your salesperson is totally out of it. This also is very illogical if it were true. First, unless your car is garaged, you'd have to leave your keys in the car with the door unlocked. Anybody can open the door and start the car and take it. Totally illogical.

actually I just did an expirement, and its not just if the battery is weak. the I-key will start the car even if the battery is dead. To find out for sure I removed the battery from my Ikey, and the car started just fine. once it was started and I removed the key from the slot, I did get the no key message though.
Knight is right, you can't charge the Intellikey. But what does sticking in the slot do? Especially if it still works in there without the battery. It doesn't make an electrical connection, does it? Can someone stick their tongue in there and see what happens???
there's a computer chip in the key (which is transmitted under normal battery operation via a radio type signal). Sticking it in the slot allows contact with the chip so the car knows its the right key, etc.
That's the way it was explained to me, makes sense, similar to the older keys with a chip in the actual key.
