Hood Scoop

I was able to cut my hood correctly and add a hood scoop. I then angled the filter so that it was sitting inside the scoop housing, it is not only louder but seems to do much better in the cold air formation.

The Cost in total for me was 65 dollars with everything. spray painted the scoop flat black on my Super Black Altima, it gave it a nice contrast!!!

will look to post a how to guide in the near future but will give you the quick heads ups. 1. I tripled measured dont want to mess up the hood. 2. I removed the hood from the car, marked the center point and the edges, using the scoop as a guide I traced its outline used masking tape masking paper to prevent scratches to the rest of the hood from the metal shavings.
3. I then had to flip the hood over removed the insulation and had to gently cut the epoxy off 2 points. 4. I then pushed the part I had cut out. 5. I then had to cut part of the framing but did so in a manner that least affected the rigid structure of the hood.

I used a Dremal tool to cut with a cutting wheel only needed one but may need more, I took my time on the cuts as to keep the tool cooled down, and the hood cool.

after all the work I put the scoop on after 4 layers of Automotive paint, I then adjusted the Fujita Tube up so that the filter was sitting in the housing, please make note that this should be done slowly as to avoid clearance issues and or damaging your hood or intake.

I also used a very refined low pro scoop. I will post pics when I post the whole how to up I just wanted every one to be aware of it again thanks if any one wants to move this to a how to page it would be great and I will then post pics of the car inside and out, and the location of the intake.

way better flow than some air re-route kit.

Because of the small, and low profile look to it people seem to not notice that its there at night, and those who do are always asking if its functional.

^ Hey can you post a link here in your post when you do get that howto up...I would love to see pics and maybe I can get them over to AIT so they can produce a vented hood.

^ I actually saw the intake at the SpoCom show at their booth and it looks very promising and it does have a heat shield but still not as good as K&N's but much better than Injen's. And reasonably priced too. I'll post pricing as soon as I can get it.

Yea we know that hood already...its actually on Loop's car over at Nicoclub and its sold through bodykits.com

It a bit pricey for what you get however...IMO Seibon and AIT are prolly gonna give you the best bang for your buck but they are not doing vented as of yet...AIT will do a vented hood in the near future but they have to run OEM style first.

Yeah, apparently the dealers are clueless on that stuff. My dealer was the same thing. Just buy the nismo kit on leeparts.com

that's a clean looking front lip.
There are no modifications required to fit this front lip on. Actually, the installation is quite simple
