Went to the dealership yesterday and asked about fogs. They say they can install one on my 2.5S (not prewired) for $650, parts and labor. Madness.
However, if I were to install fogs on my car, can I just wire them to the empty 86 and 87 slots, and install a factory stalk? Is it really that simple? And for those of you that have factory fogs, where do they run the wires?

check the FAQ section to see how to install fog lights if your car is not prewired. NO it is not that easy

Thanks for the responses. I really like the projector + halo, though.
As for the FAQ, I've read that already, along with 4-5 other threads about the topic. I just want to minimize cutting factory stuff and keep things as clean as possible; best case scenario would be to use the hole that's already in the factory footwell. Just out of curiosity - suppose your car doesn't have TCS/VDC. Anybody ever tried buying these OEM switches and using them for fogs or interior LEDs?
Someone mentioned in one of the posts that if you are not prewired, you can install the factory fog stalk, and the computer would direct power to those two slots in the fuse box, and you can just wire up your fogs there. I was just wondering if anybody else has managed to pull this off.

For what it's worth - I think I remember something about the Armada/Titan fogs being the same...

It is that easy. My car was not prewired, no wire going to 86 or 87 and no hidden wire harnesses. I have a 2007 2.5s and I just replaced the stalk I had with the fog switch stalk and it powers up pin 86 and 87. I then hooked up some fogs I bought to those pins and grounded the other side and they work great. I just have to aim them now.
Not really probably took me 45 minutes just being extra careful. Once you get to it its just held in place with 2 screws and has a white electrical connector attached to it. Unscrew it, detach the connector and then reverse steps with the new stalk. Here is someones picture of what it looks like http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...812081349a.jpg

Where is the best place to run the wires in the engine back to pins after you installed the stalk?
I ran the wire from the passenger side fog light low and behind the radiator (looking from the front). The driver side was easy just coming straight up to the right of the battery. Here is a picture from this forum showing where I grounded both wires. http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...02390-inst.jpg I didn't use the screw which holds the headlight as shown, but used one of those pre-threaded holes shown. The screw size is Metric 8 x 1.25mm I think I used 30mm length which is around a little larger than an inch. I then just drilled into the fuse panel to get the wires in. It seemed like the easiest way to get it in becausing I didn't feel like fussing to get it in the existing wires running in there
dammit- 08 coupe 2.5s w/ con package and no wiring
