mine was $80.70. it was way under 1/4 tank and it took in 18.95 gallons. i had just come back from a little trip and didnt bother to fill it up before that. god i hate seeing $80+ at a damn gas station.
I'm with you, and that's why after my first time of running until the fuel light came on, and paying over $60 for a tankful, I decided to just fill up weekly. I know it may be more efficient to let it go low, but it's just too depressing when that time comes.
That said, I'm averaging 32-34 mpg on my Altima 2.5S 6M, and that's doing the calculations miles/gallons at the pump, not using the car computer. That's every tankfull, with a mix of highway/city.
My best was 420 miles on a tank, but this discussion about miles per tank and max fill-up is a bit meaningless. The Altima has one of the largest tanks in its class (20.0 gallons). Obviously, the max fill-up is... 20.0 gallons (x $/gallon at your station). The main advantage of a large tank is less visits to the gas station.
exactly i dont mind it having such a big tank. means less visits to gas station and thats why some of us are able to go over 450 miles on a tank full. i have friends who complain and bitch why my altima has such a big tank. like damm it cost u 75-80 to fill up. im like so what...you car takes 13 gallons and you have to visit the gas station twice a week...me only ones :-) and boy i hate going to the gas station!!!!!
I get 26 mpg with a 2.5 (k&n air filter but 60-75 lbs of subwoofers and box). I noticed that when i am coasting down a hill and not touching the gas, my rpm's goes to like 2600?!?!?!?! Whereas if I am coasting on a level surface, it is at 1700... Any ideas on the logic of this? Does it happen to other people? I have an AT and I am using neutral more ofter because of the high rpm's while coasting downhill. Thoughts?

thats a well discussed thingy in this forum. cvt automatically down shifts (selects another ratio). just like engine braking in a m/t. cool feature. only bad thing is when you adjust to this you;ll have a hard time with driving a non-cvt auto car

I'm a new Altima owner and loving every minute of it. This site was great in helping me choose my new car. The dealership gave me a full take upon delivery and today I filled up for only the 2nd time and manually calculated 29.66 mpg. At this rate maybe I'll join the 600 Club soon.
Dang, my best is 535 on my 2.5/CVT. I just hit 29k on my car that was purchased in December and I bet not many pile on the long trips like I do. My problem is I just can't keep it below 75 mph. On congested drives where my speed is limited to 55-60 mph my gauge reads over 600 miles to empty. I chicken out when it says 30 miles to empty. I wonder how far I could really drive, but am too far from home to risk running out. I was hoping by now I'd have hit the magic 600 once or twice. My overall MPG did go from 28.2 mpg to 29.2 mpg since early April.
I have gotten 603 Miles on a single tank. I have done this a few times on long highway trips.
I was in 6th gear and had it on cruise at 60 MPH.
Really? with 3.5 you got to 600miles? damn now thats fing impressive.

I have not made it to 600 club, but once did make it to 400miles with avg of 25MPG (put 16 gallons). So assuming I was brave enough to drive to the empty tank, it might have been possible for 500 mile fill up, but that wont happen. how do people put 19 gallons of ga in their tanks? It just bothers me mentally to see the light come on at around 15.5 gallons (the same for most of us here). I aways think, what if this time its for real and i am running out of gas?

I've made two trips to my daughters college with her and I in the car, the trunk and rear seat completely filled. That dropped my mpg into the mid 20's on a pure highway trip (little over 300 miles). No way I'd get anywhere close to that magic 600 mile tank with a load.

I only meant to say that such Nissan is a mid-size sedan and can get such nice long trips. I have done the same for my brother and yeah, mpg drops a lot when car is fully packed.
My commute to work is 95% highway & 5% city (18 miles each way) but the highway is 2 lanes each way with a speed limit of 70 mph. You can safely drive 60-65 mph in the right lane but if you get in the left lane prepare to run 75-80 mph or get run over by a big 18 wheeler. My Altima rides so quiet and smooth I really don't mind staying in the right lane at 60-65 mph (mostly 65). It does help with the mpg. My 29.66 mpg was about 60% highway and 40% city though. My wife drug me along shopping with her Saturday which accounted for most of the city miles.
