Air breather & air filter ?

I intend to replace intake vent hose with an air breather. I just want your opinion whether i should or should not do it. Also, does it really matter if i change to different air filter ? (different sound ?...)

IMHO it would be more for looks than anything. No benefit whatsoever.

Diiferent sound? Maybe.

More hp/better fuel economy? Probably not so much. K&N drop in filters flow only about 100 CFM'c better than paper filters, from what I have read.
