Just installed my fog lights today and it was a complete success. The fogs are on if and only if [iff] the headlights are on, and they turn off when the high beams come on.
do you think theres any way of doing sort of the opposite of what you did, and be able to control the fog lights independently of the headlights, if you have stock fog lights with the fog lights stalk?
right now, the fogs lights will only come on when the headlights are on. what im looking to do is be able to turn the fog lights on without having the headlights on, or even the parking lights.
i know there is a module out there that KPtechnologies sells, but i dont want to spend $45 on the module, and then pay to have it installed, because im sure its not just a simple plug and play install. im sure there is some wiring work that needs to be done.

I don't think it's possible to use the controls on the stalk for what you're talking about. The information from the stalk is fed right into the BCM and that's the unit that decides whether or not to power the fogs.
Actually I brought this up on Nicoclub and didn't get a good result. Just comments like "Why"! I still have not figured out a way. I e-mailed KP Technologies because on their Forum section, they said that the 08 Altima was the hardest install to date so I e-mailed them to see what was available. I know on my 05' Nissan Frontier, I just used a simple Jumper Wire in the fuse box, but the fogs would come on with the parking lights, which I liked alot. If anyone figures anything out please reply to this post. I can't understand how it would be harder than tapping into a couple wires or adding a relay!
maybe if i do the same thing as you it would work....but instead of putting the jumper wire between the fog lights and the headlights, put the jumper wire between the parking lights and the headlights....
if i understood what you did, if i did the jumper wire between the fogs and the parking lights, then the fog lights would come on IFF the parking lights are on......which means if i turned the parking lights on the fogs would be on, and if i turned the headlights on the fogs would come on as well since the parking lights are on when the headlights are on....

if what i said in my previous post is true, what terminals would i need to put the jumper wire between to get the fog lights to come on with the parking lights?
what is a jumper wire anyway? is it just a regular wire connecting the 2 terminals? in a total n00b when it comes to this kind of wiring.
also....is this bad for the wiring system, or would this do anything to screw up the wiring system?
if you could coasterswim, could you take pics of what you did?
^ What I have done isn't what you're looking for. The only thing I accomplished was tricking the car's computer into thinking I have the fog light switch on the stalk always set to on when in reality I don't even have the switch. All of your modifications would take place in the engine bay whereas all my modifications took place right under the steering wheel.

This is true, though, so it still might be what you are looking for.
