bad MAF? need help!

ok, so i installed the injen CAI about a year ago and it has been smooth sailing. however, about a month ago i noticed a loss of power at the beginning of every gear. I first thought it to be the clutch slipping.. but i realized that it was not that. so i removed the CAI and re-installed the factory air filter so the dealership would service the problem.. however they returned the car saying they couldnt get the car to do for them what it had been doing for me. the problem actually seemed to have stopped once the factory air box was installed. i then put the CAI back on and it is now doing the same thing.

I will try my best to describe the problem. In first gear from a stop, at 2500 rpm i release the clutch and the rpms drop by about 1000 at which point it seems to "catch" and then the car starts to have power. I shift into second and again at low rpms it lags. Each gear it gets progressively less noticable.

Could this be a bad MAF, or does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem could be linked to..?

Thanks for any help guys

sounds like its either getting to much air or to little, do you clean out or change your filter often or when needed and is it getting cooled properly

yes i replaced the filter days ago and i am still having the problem... i havent heard of anyone else having the issue so i feel like it may be something wrong with my car in particular.
**another thing i forgot to mention! it seems that the car only does it when its hot or has been running for a while. and as soon as it starts laging or boging down, if i turn the car off and let it sit for a minute then restart it, the problem goes away for a few minutes... again i dont know what to make of this.

Humidity is probably affecting your electrical circuits is my guess. When was the last time you replaced your plugs and spark plug wires? Any codes appearing? Even if not you may be able to take it to some place like Autozone or Pep Boys and they can put a OBD II on it to check it out. If no codes it may be NISSAN Specific code in which case you need an "enhanced code reader" and need to take it to NISSAN for the read.

My best guess is you need to have your idle reset with the CAI.
