Most likely i will go with a scion tC, an 06 spec v or a cobalt ss s/c

i want something fun, sporty, RELIABLE, and with a nice mod market..
idk i still have a few months to look around, but i still am battling with nissan about the stupid airbag light that is on!!

Good luck with it. I hope you can get out of it soon. I traded mine in at 35.5K miles I was not going to take a chance of driving that junk without a warranty. I am happy to be out of mine. they really are junky cheaply made cars. Before the Sentra I had a 2005 Altima it was a much better car then the Sentra. Just made better not so cheep. I REALLY dislike the CVT, and considering all Nissan cars now have a CVT I will not own another Nissan.

On mine if I opened up the Oil filler cap when the car was running, it was like a leaf blower blowing air out. This can be a sign of bad blow by, or it could just be how they are. Does anyone else have this happen?

theres always bad apples in a bunch, doesn't make the sentra bad, i've heard great stories and i heard nightmares, this goes for any car maker, so if your not happy with your ride speak your peace and don't beat a dead horse, cause if all your gonna be is a hater, you and liv'n loud go some wheres else cause its gett'n played.

Especially when you have bought the cheap model. We have the se-r, and i havent had a single issue with paint, or engine problems. Next time spend a extra 3k and get the next step up, instead of the near base. Whenever you buy the more basic model of a companies lower line car usually you do get shit. But im sorry to say this, all ive owned are nissans, and my datsuns. And other than my altima having a engine problem ive never had anythin bad with nissan that they didnt fix right away for me.

So my question is, wth did nissan take the - out of se-r?
05 altima se-r with Nismo Cai, kenwood double din, tinted windows, powder coated se-r rims, active tuning s5 grill.
08 sentra se-r. Tinted windows and c-mod grill.
71 Datsun 510. lz 2.2 with sss carbs, enkei ek80 wheels.

i agree a 100%, i had a 98 sentra gxe put 225k on it the only thing that went south was the distributor thats it, other than that wear items and fluids, the car was stock, always remember a car was desinged as stock, to mod people can't just put some bolt ons and xspect a major difference and as far as warranty goes if its covered its on nissan know matter what (as long as they don't think u were beating the car)

Yes I bought the S model. It is a cheap car,it is an economy car after all. I have owned a 79 Datsun 280zx a 87 Sentra (280K mles!) a 05 Altima and the 2008 Sentra. I like Nissan cars. I just do not like the CVT.

I agree the SER with the 2.5 is a much better car.

The value of 2007+ Sentra will drop as people learn what junk they are. I have read of at least 10 others on the net that had CVT problems so I am not the only one..

I would buy a pathfinder or titan without issue, no CVT. I would love to pick up an Altima Coupe with a 6 speed. That would be really nice.

cvt blows thats why i had my ride converted to six speed and if i knew what i know now i would of went for the six speed first and remember you can get any alt, max, or sen w/six speed other than that the ride is a good car

I did read that Nissan installs External oil coolers on CVTs in other country's with hotter climates. I have not been able to confirm this, but if it is true that should start installing them on ALL CVTs..

yeah it can be done cause i was go'n to get it with the mod but the cvt can't handle the power i was go'n after, so its worth it if you just stay with bolt on mods...........

1. As discussed in the other post, the paint it utter garbage. It scratches like my hand on my balls. It has blotchy spots all in it, and yes i know how to wash, wax and polish cars. I did detailed my friends scion tc and was shocked how much better the paint quality was.

2. Got corrosion? My engine looks like its 20 years old, my old ford's v6 i had before this car wasn't this bad. The engine is all pitted and i have rust in many places under the car aswell.

3. They literally had a mexican wire this car. I mean absolutely pathetic. I have an airbag light on, which nissan tells me they cannot fix for me under warranty now i am fighting with corporate. Any time it gets cold out the TPMS light goes on. The stock stereo is horrific and the service engine soon light likes to pop in and say hello at least once a month. But my newest thing is my car locks me out of it. It does not let me use my remote to access the car nor can i use my buttons on my door to enter my car. I literally have to put my key in the door and open it in which the car wakes up and then my remote works? Weird..... and no it is not my battery in my remote. I used 2 different remotes and changed batteries.

4. CVT is terrible. Thats all i have to say here.

5. If you love body roll buy this car.

6. Thanks for the bridgestone turenzas! I think if i sh!t in my hand and put it on my rim it would turn out to be a better tire then these things. Like seriously nissan skimp alittle more on this one.

7. My speedometer is off. Very nice. My speedo will tell me i am doing 80 when i am doing 73mph. Just rackin those extra miles for fun ya know.

This car is garbage and because of it i will never buy another nissan again. Sorry guys. PEACE!
A few things I want to comment on. I used to have an Altima, and I did have some quality issues as well, most notably the last part of item #3. Multiple times.

#4, agreed, totally, but that's something that people need to extensively test out before purchasing the vehicle. I'm not a fan of auto anyway, but the CVT makes it worse as far as driving excitement goes. However, it's working properly and how it's supposed to work, which is unfortunate in cases like yours and mine.

#6, Turanza's are horrendous. They have terrible treadwear ratings, can't grip in any direction (stopping, starting, going around curves), but that's a stock tire on a Sentra for you.

Lastly, it appears to me that you have aftermarket wheels on your car, is that correct? That's enough to throw the speedometer off.

well when i was speeaking of the turanza's and the speedo being off, that was with the stock wheels on, i only had rims w/ kuhmo ecstas on for about 6 months all together. this car is whatever..im just done lol,

brickjointer why the eff would you even bother to convert your cvt to manual (which i doubt you did) with all the labor and parts you might aswell sold your sentra and bought a Spec-v. show me proof that you did a cvt to manual swap, id love to see this.
