noob here...

hello, I'm Wes from Muscle Shoals, Al. I'm a honda guy mainly. I have an 02 civic Si that is pretty much a mugen CTR replica, an 86 civic Si that is undergoing a track car transformation, a 79 civic 1200 awaiting restoration, and a 91 S13 hatch waiting for my other projects to get done. my g/f has an 01 altima, hence why I'm here. I'm trying to find out what semi-unknown quirks the car has, that may be causing bad fuel mileage. the CTS and EGR threads have been helpful so far.

Welcome aboard.

I'm a diehard Nissan guy with a total of 13 Nissan's that have been in my stable over the past 18 years, but the '79 Civic awaiting restoration caught my attention. My first car (at 16 yo) was a bright yellow w/black interior '77 Civic. That car was the beginning my my import obsession. Although this is a Nissan board, I'd really like to see the progress you have with your Civic, whenever you get the chance.

thanks for the welcome!

the 79 hasn't had anything done to it yet. when I got it, it had sat for 3 years, and with a spray of ether, it fired up and drove itself into the back yard.

this is the 86 Si the week I tore it down.

the rear suspension is done. this was just a progress shot from an old build thread

this is my 2002 EP3

my 91 S13

my g/f's altima

Beautiful cars you have there.

That '79 looks it has some potential. I just had a flash back of buying 12" tires, a Sparkomatic cassette player with some Sparkomatic 6x9's. Seeing as you're from AL, it's no wonder you can still find those long lost jewels practically rustfree. I haven't seen that particular bodystyle Civic around these parts in years. But there is an older Asian lady still driving what looks like an '80 (if that's the first year of the significant body change) around town. That 240 SX looks nice too. Love those wheels. I'm in the process of fitting the oldschool 4 lug 300Z wheels onto my Altima, we'll see how that turns out.

thanks man. the 79 was given to me under the premise that I restore it, and hold on to it. thats not gonna be a problem. it will be box stock when I get done! I was raised in those cars, and I've wanted one for a while. it has a little rust, but nothing too terrible. the 80 was the first year of the second gen. they went to square headlights.

the 240 is an se, and I got it for $500 with 200,000 on the clock. just in front of the back wheels, on both sides, the quarters are pushed in. +50 fenders will cover that nicely. a friend is driving it for now. his truck died, and the 240 was just sitting. I figured with a swap in its future, he can drive it til the ka pukes a rod or something.

I got my g/f the 17" konigs with BFG g-force sport tires with about 7k on them for $300. yeah, I have the knack for finding deals...

the Z wheels should look pretty good. I considered putting the 240 wheels on her altima til I found the 17s.
