Well I want to figure out a way for my car to interact with my phone for music. So that I can skip tracks through the steering wheel.

Welcome. And you don't wanna get an aftermarket head unit?

I've never owned a car before so I had to do a quick Google search for head units. Im guessing you mean some sort of center console I'd have to install so that my device can interact with the car?

It's just replacing the CD/MP3/radio all in one unit. There are other things you could do, but I think swapping out the head unit for an aftermarket one would be the best and easiest way

Sounds good. Any recommendations as to a specific head unit?

If you have an iPhone, then I'd recommend a Pioneer because they have great compatibility with iPhones/iPods. Alpine is also a great brand for head units.

I dunno.....I'd say a couple hundred seeing as how I dunno how expensive these things are supposed to be. Lets just say I don't want cheap or too expensive. And I would like for it to match the interior lol

Just go up to an audio store, or Best Buy and play around with some then. Or do some browsing around here Crutchfield: Car Stereo, Speakers, Home Theater, LCD TV, Digital Cameras
