Shopping for a New Altima

Hello from New Jersey, USA. I am currently shopping for a new car. The most likely candidate is a Altima 3.5 SL. But, I am concerned about the CVT issues that are reported here.

welcome! definitely go test drive one. cvts have a insanely long lifetime warranty, and nissan has put out a bulletin and recall for the cvt problem. its a new version of the cvt along with new body style so their are faults. but the cvt in the past altima has been with no recalls

Thanks. I did test drive the 6-cyl and really liked it. But the number of complaints posted about the CVT has really given me pause. I understand that the 2.5 has been fixed through a reprogramming, but there is nothing for the 6-cylinder. Nissan responds that the noise and vibration are normal. I have no desire to plunk down $30,000 + on a car and end up with noise and vibration problems. I keep my cars for 10+ years and the idea of spending 10 years dreading this problem is enough to push me away from all Nissan CVT's.
