Inside, the Pathfinder is spacious and versatile. The second- and third-row seats fold flat to give a very usable load area. With the third row folded, there's a gargantuan 49.2 cubic feet of stowage. The cabin is nicely finished, with some pleasing chrome and alloy accents, but it ain't no Volkswagen Touareg.
This impressive mid-size SUV rides nicely, steers well, and has good passing performance, although the V-6 lacks the low-down steam of a big American V-8. The five-speed automatic is well matched to the engine, and it's pretty good on back roads. You'll definitely notice the 4400-to-4800-pound bulk as it pummels into deep dips. Off-road, the awd systems will conquer most obstacles, but the increased size means this Pathfinder isn't as nimble as the old one.

I went for a test drive in a '05 XE today & I was impressed by the new Path. The steering was pretty good & suspension was decent as well. Interior space was lacking for the 2nd row & the 3rd row forget about it.
It definitely felt solid & did not seem like any costs were cut in making these. Materials & fit and finish were on par on what you would expect. I agree with the test driver with the performance in the lower RPMs it was lacking that extra umph, but once you got around 4000-4500 RPMs it hauled.
At a price of $25750 you get a lot of vehicle. I would suggest if you have a little extra $$ upgrade to the SE which has a starting price of $26410 it has nicer interior & adds fog lights & running boards & you have more options available as well.
