Nissan GT-R Spec V confirmed, caught running the 'Ring
Those spy shots we showed you yesterday of a higher-performance GT-R have been confirmed by inside sources as the Spec V model, which will both shed poundage and gain power compared to its baser sibling. Weight is expected to drop by over 300 pounds thanks to extensive use of carbon fiber, and as for how much power the twin-turbo 3.8L V6 will make in Spec V trim... some are saying 550 - 600 horsepower, though we think that's a bit optimistic as well as just overkill. These shots show the GT-R Spec V attacking a corner at the Nurburgring, and in the German sun we can see the new front splitter below the grille and carbon fiber rear wing much clearer. The current GT-R's performance has already surprised us all, but it's clear that this is just beginning for Nissan's new halo car.
That is the sickest car I have ever seen! The rotors are about as big as the wheels on my car!! I can't believe Nissan builds such a machine. I'm stoked, Nissans forever

yea man, that guy is a beast and depending on what definition you use it is technically a dunk, i have a new appreciation of people who can dunk because last week i finally did dunk on a regulation rim.
Yah, I used to be able to dunk on 10' when I was a teenager. Thanks to "jump-soles" polymetric exercies I went from a 24" vertical to a 37" vertical. I was dunking when I was 5'5.
Back to that guy's dunk. Yah, his stuff was completely original and clean. His superman, he came up about a foot from touching the actual rim. So I don't know what you consider a dunk, but the superman fell about one foot short from it. It was still badass though
Did anyone watch this on Speed channel last night? They test drove a 09 GTR in it. They also showed a few challengers and then mentioned the price of the nissan. Tanner Frost of someone was driving and it was so gnarley to see actual video of the car in action! They mentioned the pros, and the cons. Their conclusion was the only negative to this ride was the weight. I agree, it's a hefty bitch- but for under $100 k, I think it's pretty sweet.
I was just wondering if anyone watched the show last night?
I'm glad nissan stepped up with an even sportier version of the GTR. Anyone know how much the V model will cost? I'm having a hard time deciding between waiting for that, or just sticking with Porsche.
