There is a fix for the IMG tags.

Quote:
Fix" Large Images Posted with [IMG] Tag
vB Version: vB 3.5.0 Beta 4 Mod Version: 1.00
Released: 25. Jul 2005 Last Update: Never
This is a simple change. Works on IE and Firefox, but can't guarantee anything with other browsers. This will make large images show up in a scroll-box if they are larger than the size you specify on the width parameter of the DIV tag.

In includes/class_bbcode.php, around line 1781:

Find:
Code:

return '<img src="' . $link . '" border="0" alt="" />';

Replace With:
Code:

return '<div style="width: 800px; overflow: auto;"><img src="' . $link . '" border="0" alt="" /></div>';
i'm going to try this on my test system tonighg.

one more.

Auto resize large image
vB Version: vB 3.5.0 Mod Version: 1.00
Released: 25. Oct 2005 Last Update: 01. Nov 2005
In fact this is a work around for the auto resize feature to work with the WYSIWYG editor.

Step1. In includes/class_bbcode.php

Find (in line around 18xx):
Code:

return '<img src="' . $link . '" border="0" alt="" />';

Replace with:
Code:

return '<img src="' . $link . '" onload="if(largerThan(this.width,700)) {this.width=700;this.alt=\'Click here to see a large version\';}" onmouseover="if(this.alt) this.style.cursor=\'pointer\';" onclick="if(this.alt) window.open(\'' . $link . '\');" border="0" />';

Step2. Modify the common template of your template set

Add this to the headinclude section:
Code:

<script type="text/javascript">
function largerThan(a,b)
{
return a>b;
}
</script>

can temp locks be placed on threads that carry away? only updates by actual vendor/thread starter can release? to prevent 100 page threads with repeat gibberish/

One thing that's cool (and on that list) is WAP access. Fireblades.org instituted that and it's a handy tool. It allows people to keep better track of their For Sale threads, gives quick, mobile access to help if you're working on a project in the garage, and is just plain cool to a geek. (As many of us are). I've found that being able to sign on quickly from my cell phone has come in quite handy more than once.

You can already search the members list. vBGarage search would be nice though.

Cool. It's always nice when forums still care enough to keep improving instead of just being happy with what they are.

Ewww, that just brought back horrible memories of the infamous "best Altima competition" of 03'. I do think an Altima of the Month Feature would be cool, but to do it right we'd need some members to act like reporters of sorts and give the m.o.m. a call to write up the story. Would be very cool though, no doubt!

If I recall, it was poorly managed, noone took responsibility for it. We had people creating fake names to vote for themselves or friends, and we had some hurt feelings. On top of that if I recall the contest was aimed at 2002+ Altys, so of course the generation wars ensued. That was back when Enforcer was king of the mods and everyone was voting for him or that white one with the ghost flames... can't remember the name. Both are not around anymore as far as I know.
